20 minute rule. 20 minutes in the fridge before opening. whites 20 minutes out of the fridge before opening.

Depends on the wine.

They live at 57degF.

Most of my reds are consumed at or a bit above that temp.

Whites first live in the fridge for a while.

Same for some reds, though for a lesser time.

Occasionally, wines move to the freezer for a short stay.

I live in Florida, room temp it isn't even wine, it is more like syrup.

I live in South Florida, room temp with the a/c on is 78 at best. So I stick with Chardonnay or throw a bottle of red in the fridge for about half an hour to try to achieve normal room temperature.
