Poll: Do you have a go-to wine?
  • 35.2% - I don’t. I like to keep my options open. 195
  • 19% - I don’t, but sometimes wish I did. It seems such a sophisticated thing to do. 105
  • 34.3% - I do, but only when I can find it. 190
  • 11.6% - I do, and I don’t drink anything else. James Bond didn’t get famous for diversifying. 64

Well, how do you fare compared to the Zeitgeist? Chat up your fellow wooters and let us know how lame this poll was or what obvious choices we missed. For example: Was this poll a) STUPID, b) DUMB, c) POINTLESS or d) ALL OF THE ABOVE?

Does anyone have a good go-to red around the $10 price range that is readily accessible at stores?

I do actually yes, Concannon Petite Sirah, whatever year you can find. Good luck doing better at $10. I defy anyone to top it!

Penfold's Koonunga Hill Shiraz / Cab. It is $7.99 at my local place, but is almost always below $12.

I have Penfolds as my go-to dessert wine - Penfolds Club Reserve Tawny ($10-14) Beats many 20 year tawnies that will cost you $60.

I don't really have a go-to table wine. I like variety too much.

Did you see the leather bottle holder on the main page today? based on that recommendation, I think it really suits your style.

I would put Bogle Petite Sirah against Concannon in a blind tasting anytime...be willing to bet it would be very close to 50-50 on guest preferences. Both are safe bets though.
