“In the entire world there are only a few sounds that bring joy to all but the most jaded. One is the murmur of a kitten purring. Another is the thwack of a well-pitched baseball hitting a perfectly swung bat. And the third is the pop of a cork being pulled from a bottle of wine.” —George Taber

I wanted to buy this but the price is a little steep. I had an opportunity to buy the 06 heritage reserve cab a few months back for $25 a bottle and mistakenly passed.

I visited the tasting room last fall but did not taste the heritage reserve lineup, it as a more expensive tasting.

I find Wine Enthusiast to be the least reliable of the "Big Four," but fwiw, it looks like they rate the Merlot and Cab 87 and the Pinot 88.

I like the specs on these wines. All produced in the old world style by one of California's best old world winemakers. I've always liked Walter Schug's wines. I'm in.

Hard to ignore an endorsement like this. In for one.
