I must applaud the WCC crew for roping in some Bordeaux for us. I think this is a f!rst.

How tannic are these at this age? And do we get any stats other than Alc?

Lastly, why does F!RST get changed by the woot filters? Really?

Yes, it's good to see some Bordeaux here.

The CT notes indicate little in the way of tannins.. Makes me wonder how much longer they can be cellared.

Do my eyes deceive me?

They're already 8 years old. Why cellar them any longer? They're village BDX; not any serious growth.

I was excited about this offer, but now that I see they're about $10/bottle on winesearcher...but shipping from EU would be a killer.

I'd love to have some rattage on these.

How about the two plus deals up right now? 3L's of tasty in one and some very reasonably priced reserve syrahs in the other... (I'm on the buy list for the syrahs)

Also, many people don't have access to aged Bordeaux. This is a chance to try the real thing.

It may not be for you, but it certainly still offers something new!

You can buy Marilyn Merlot but there's no such thing as Brigitte Bordeaux. Somebody needs to fix that.... and then make a Jessica Albariño.

Tried lots of aged Bordeaux in Switzerland and was never overly impressed. Found them to be decent like the reviews on CT. If you like bold Cali reds like I do these might not be for you. Of course Ive not tried these particular wines...so who knows.

Bought instantly if only to encourage Wine Woot to bring us more French wine. May I go for a very long shot and suggest finding us some Jura Savagnin, or even Jura Chardonnay ? I would definitely be in for the maximum, and ask all my friends to do the same :D

Would have loved to hav tried these but I just bought the fruit bomber and the McLean syrahs. So no BDX for CT.

Interested to know if they are produced in the Old World Style or the New World Parker Style.

Not even close to a good deal. Google the vintages and ordering can save you many bucks.

I feel your pain. Personally, I'd like to see some Kaye Syrah, Natalie Portan and David Tannat. Not to mention Whoopi Goldburger, Leon Pinella, Tina St. Marie and Lauren Bical. Shall I go on? :-)

Hi All, I would describe the Tour Blanche as quite tight with strong tannins in place that will continue to mellow over the next 5-10 years. The Guerry has a higher ph and is drinking more soft and satin right now. Both wines I would describe as a nouveau style in that there is some oak and they are fruity, however, there is some distinct dirt and terroir in them. So, rather than Old or new world, I'll refer to them as mid-Atlantic in style.

One Vine Wine - stay (far) away from them!

Tried our first bottle last night... Cotes de Bourg... with my wife's Daube and some Saint Nectaire. My wife, who is quite picky about her Bordeaux's, was very pleased. I'm certainly no expert in wines, but I really enjoyed this bottle. Looking forward to trying the Medoc Cru Bourgeois, but will probably wait a couple more years.
