It's Monday, this isn't supposed to happen...

Wait, it's the Perseids, or a rift in the continuum. Perhaps an upcoming Woot-Off?

I was about to say that, but I was trying to figure out a nice way to put it.

I'm surprised, because besides that crap-o-licious looking first image they don't look too horrible.

(seriously though that first pic looks disgusting woot, nice one.)

Sadly, no. Now that there are corporate lawyers and crap we can't do fun stuff. But hey, jerky!

Tell me I am missing something. I bought the Groupon for Krave Premium Gourmet Jerky for $24.99 + $5 shipping and that was for 7 packages of 3.25oz of jerky.

Here were the Groupn flavors:
Basil Citrus gourmet turkey jerky
Chili Lime gourmet beef jerky
Garlic Chili Pepper gourmet beef jerky
Lemon Garlic gourmet turkey jerky
Pineapple Orange gourmet beef jerky
Smoky Grilled Teriyaki gourmet pork jerky
Sweet Honey Chipotle gourmet beef jerky

This is for the same amount, $45 + $5 shipping.

Am I missing something?

EDIT: I was informed I am going NUTS. I missed the NUTS

This is for the same, but for $45 + $5 shipping.

Their website sells them for $7 each pack, buy 5 and get free shipping. The pistachios is what cranks the list price up on these.

quality posts: 0 Private Messages mat1622

I purchased this that last time it was on here, but for much, much less.

Order Subtotal
$17.99
Shipping
$5
Total
$22.99

What I received:
Smoky Grilled Teriyaki, 3.25oz
Chili Lime, 3.25oz
Sweet Chipotle, 3.25oz
Lemon Garlic, 3.25oz
Basil Citrus, 3.25oz

Now it's:
In the box:

(1) Pork Smoky Grilled Teriyaki, 3.25 oz.
(1) Sweet Honey Chipotle Gourmet Beef Jerky, 3.25 oz.
(1) Chili Lime Gourmet Beef Jerky, 3.25 oz.
(1) Pineapple Orange Gourmet Beef Jerky, 3.25 oz.
(1) Basil Citrus Gourmet Turkey Jerky, 3.25 oz.
(2) Wonderful Pistachio, 32 oz.

Are the pistachios really worth that much?

From what I remember from past woots (even though I never had any myself), people said the Krave Jerky over did it on the sugar, making the jerky sickly sweet, the beef moist and sticky, and the flavors overpowering the beef itself.

For 50$, you're better off just buying you're desired sized pack of pistachios and some different jerky.

I've tried this before, and it would best be described as "jerky-like food product". It is very wet and sticky, seems to almost have a glaze to it.

Not only is this stuff vile, but also contains things that have no business being in beef/pork/whatever jerky.

High fructose corn syrup? Food coloring?!

One pound of old dried mixed meat.
Two pounds of Nuts.
$50, delivered.

That's like $17 per pound. I pay less than that for filet mignon.

5 pkg X 3.25 oz/pkg = 16.25oz.

"Sale" price is $45. So the jerky is $45/POUND? And that qualifies as a "deal" HOW?????

ysoslo

$45 for just over 1 pound of jerky?!?! (and nuts, I know). If this was half the price I might consider it, but for now I'm definitely going to pass.

Pistachios, but still not a good deal for nasty jerky.

This deal is actually only $2 more than previously offered (separately).
The jerky was $19.99 and the pistachios were $22.99.
See the first post for links.

You must have broken tastebuds. Krave jerky is fscking delicious. If it solely was my last meal, I'd tell the warden to bring on the lethal injection.

The nuts destroy this deal though.

I got the Krave Jerky last time, and I would walk 500 miles just to be the guy who's chomping on some more of those turkey flavors - Basil Citrus and Lemon Garlic were amazing!

The bottom line is some will like the beef/pork jerky, some won't. If you're used to grocery store tough, dry American type jerky, you may not like it.

I spent some time in Taiwan, and it reminds me of the jerky there. It's softer and moister than what I see here usually. True though, that the Teriyaki was a little too sticky and sweet, and from what I hear, the Pineapple Orange is worse.

The Turkey flavors are where it's at. No corn syrup, not too sweet. Perfect, unique flavors. If you love nuts and are willing to give the other jerky a try, go for it. It's worth a shot, I'd say.

Love the Proclaimers reference, but only three of the five jerky flavors are actually good?

I'm a member of the Krave jerky of the month club (which really just means you get a monthly shipment of 5 bags of jerky of my choice for $30 + free shipping, http://www.kravejerky.com/kraveklub.htm). While I bring all the bags into work to share, I eat a decent amount of Krave jerky each month. First got into Krave when it was offered on woot a couple years ago.

I'll echo what's been said that these jerkys are moist and tender, which I count as a good thing. My coworkers who try the jerky really like that it's not like eating cardboard. I do find the pineapple one too sweet and I don't order it.

I'll also echo that their turkey jerkys are amazing. My five pack each month includes three bags of turkey jerky (two lemon garlic, one basil citrus-- it's like thai food jerky!).

I'll also say that their beef curry, teriyaki pork, and garlic chili beef are all quite good. The teriyaki is on the sweet side, but it works.

Jerky is a good source of protein. Pistachios are a great source of potassium. Both taste great! Better soft jerky than desiccated.

Got These last time as my wife loves good jerky, she did not love these though. So if some random soldiers in Afghanistan got these in a box of junk food they came from me. Your welcome and I hoped you enjoyed them more than my wife.

A tender, but least flavorful, cut of meat. Perhaps you should have used a different example for using your head.

I've gotten the sweet honey chipotle, chile lime, and basil citrus versions from Cost Plus World Market and it's very good. Seems to me they retailed for $5.99 each last fall. As others have said, their jerky is moist, which I really like, and full of flavor. It is not the prettiest stuff to look at, though. The chipotle and chile lime might be a bit spicy for some people, but I thought they were good. Not available in this package, but their curry flavor was my favorite.
