Good guess but bad logic for it. Concrete aging won't affect a wine's longevity. A lot of CdP is aged in concrete before bottling. However, this is a CdR which isn't meant for long-term aging. A couple years should be no problem, though.

FWIW, I'm not a huge fan of this producer.

I'm in Bakersfield if anyone wants to split a shipment from LB. I got 4 of the Summerwood offering if anyone wants to try it. I'm a member at Booker and love it, so it was a no brainer at $20 to try it. Like Kyle, I'm not a huge fan of Summerwood compared to the rest of the West 46 Rhone Rangers, but most of those guys sell for $50+/bottle now anyway.

I'm still hoping to, but have yet to firm up logistics to make sure it will all work. I think Sparky has a seat for me, but lodging, where/when/how, remains quite squishy. I've not yet made sense out of where and when we'll be to make any reservations. Guess I really gotta do that.

Also, trifecta has a Yurt reserved near Scott Harveys house for Saturday night. There may be a spot left there, if you're OK with sleeping on a cot...

Yes, indeed. OK, looks like I've really got to get with Sparky to see when he's going to be where, as he is the wheels unless I end up driving alone. Transportation is the driving factor and I'd rather split gas with him if possible.

IMO, CdR is a huge QPR region. My favorite of 2012 was 09 Xavier. If you get a chance, buy buy buy.

09 and 10 are both very solid vintages across the S. Rhone so buy up!

Yeah - I'm not too fussy about where the wine comes from. But I pretty much operate in the range of $8-$15/bottle, and I am interested in finding value where I can within that price range. Right now that has pushed me toward many continental producers, with CdR appearing more frequently.
