Very interesting deal up on LB for 2009 Barrel 27 Grenache A Rock and a Hard Place. Only one CT review up for the 09 (good) and dozens up on the 08 (very good).

Can't go too wrong @ 13 bones per bottle.

nose: linalool, dusty, peppery, currants.

currants and raspberries in the entry.

tannic, but good balance in the middle palate, with a moderately long, tannic finish.

All-in-all a nice wine with at least a decade of life ahead of it.

I'd recommend it at this price, though not at $30.

I think we still have 7 or 8 bottles of the 99 GdL. Drinking FANTASTIC, still with tons of life, but needs a good 30-40 mins decant to really shine.

I've picked this up twice before when it has been offered at WTSO - four bottles tucked away in storage and four bottles still sitting in NJ waiting for temps to cool off.

Can't give any rattage, though. I stashed them after they arrived, and probably won't bring them out for another year or two. But I figured that Ty at this price was certainly worth a shot.

If we arrange a Seattle winos event I might bring a bottle.
