Afternoon, folks.

to everyone relying on flashlights and battery operated lanterns in case of power outages. please be sure to have plenty or at least some spare batteries. its not as obvious when a flashlight is going to die compared to a candle.

a way to charge a cellphone is useful in a power outage. that way you will be able to call me if you lose power and need help eating the steaks that are defrosting in your freezer.

Currently it's 47.
It was in the low 40's this morning, low fifties this afternoon with a stiff north wind all day.
I had to wear long sleeves AND a hoodie today.

Wow! It's 47 here right now, too. I had on a long-sleeved blouse, mainly because it was drizzling earlier. We may get snow Tues and Wed, depending on what direction Sandy takes.

Here in 32202 it's going to be 79 tomorrow for the FL/GA game. The 25 mph north wind will make it very interesting, and the fire marshal has banned all charcoal grills in the RV city. They strongly recommend taking down all tents and inflatables, like the 20' tall inflatable bulldogs. If those break loose, I hope someone has a camera.

hard to know what to do. Last year the dire predictions for Irene was all aimed at NYC and the areas up here were much harder hit. Places up here are still trying to recover. Guess we'll just wait and see where it tracks tomorrow. I did take advantage of the nicer weather today to take down all of the planters from the front porch and cut down all of the perennials. Just a few pots left that still have herbs growing in them. makes me sad to say goodbye to all of the plants that made me so happy through the summer.

Agree, husband's been pulling some out. Some are still blooming, so he'll leave those for a while. In fact, there's a geranium that's just blooming its little heart out.
