The plan is for me to have a birthday party with a theme of Roaring 20's to Golden Age of Hollywood on August 11th.

Aside from that I was thinking about a more serious wine-tasting on either the 4th or the 18th. I can do a Corison vertical 1990-x?, depending on how many people show up. And as a couple people saw at the last tasting Sparky did, I've laid up some Madeira's for a year ending in '2'.

So which weekend will work better for the "RPM memorial wine-tasting"?

Mom's 89th bday is the 4th, so I can only make it on the 18th.

I hope to have a vehicle and be able to come for either of those dates. As of right now both those dates are fine.

Lakewood, off the 605 freeway. So about another 20 to 30 minutes up from our Irvine Wine Lockers. But well worth the trip.

And the 18th is also bad.

Will be at the beach with the family that week. 18th is the last night.

Y'know, I saw the title "RPM Memorial" and my first thought was "One Measly Freaking Gadget what happened to RPM???"

You scared the crap out of me. Don't do that.

I saw HitAnyKey42 on wine.woot! and clicked "I want one!"

Is this still a possibility? After missing the last one we hope not to miss the next! (Although we will be unable to join you the weekend of the 25th.)

Ditto! Especially after only having a single tour day to get to know you guys.

time2: since I won't have a vehicle by then, is there a chance we could carpool? i.e. might I be able to hitch a ride?

How do we have an rpm memorial wine tasting when rpm is (as I type) cheerfully still walking the planet?

Wine-tasting in 8 words:
Pull lots of corks!
Remember what you taste!

No, this Saturday is his birthday partay. Some wine, but Absinthe and other drinks I believe. So not really a wine-tasting.

Just tell me when/where to show up, what to bring, which occasion/tasting and hopefully I can hitch a ride Unless it's the weekends I'm in Canada.

Yes, the 11th is my birthday party. I think that due to Sparky's whirlwind social life, this tasting will end up on the 25th.

I'll start a separate thread for this Saturday.

RPM died?!

I have two accounts- this 'anonymous' username for commenting, as well as a 'purchasing' account which is my real name. Apologies for the white box on the left.

Also, in the interest of full disclosure- I'm ITB, selling wine for a living. None of my wines have ever been featured on Woot though, so don't fear the shilling.

No. I think Tim needs to change the title. The idea was to open some Cabs to entice RPM to come out here.

Maybe Entreaty or Solicitation?

You would think that after years of dealing with the way the woot staff writes up and describes items...

Anyway, I've changed the title.

And on the subject of RPM, according to prophecy, if he does not come to Southern California, then America will go to Socialism. Coincidentally, I've been gifted a bottle of what's supposed to have been Stalin's favourite wine. We'll have to open it at the tasting...

So if it's just you and me (and maybe RJ if he drives up), does it still count as a WW gathering?

I think due to the low attendance, we're postponing it to the next Sat. So you should be able to swing by Tim's after you finish your locker.

Show of hands?

I'd like to know if there will be enough of us to justify a flight of early 90's Corison.

I also opened a 2004 LH Pinot Blanc (Shadow Canyon). TB opened a 1962 Madeira.
