Wow first sucker, congrats.
FYI (to everyone) the sale page is supposed to say 2007 and not 2006. Code monkeys will fix it shortly.

Tasty. Unique. ¡Sassy! I dig all of Dorothy's Cali-Iberian offerings. If you ever find yourself in Paso, visit Bodegas (just off the square).

Now I can post my review.

Had the opportunity to try this recently. Glad I did!
Interesting wine, definitely different. Not too complex but tasty and good with food.

Medium-dark red color. Smells hot, pretty tight and muted nose. A little air reveals some small amount of red fruits, maybe cherry or currant. Something.. floral? Not sure.
On the palate, tart cherry/cranberry, good acidity, vibrant and fresh, low tannin, no oak. Medium bodied. Good finish.
It actually isn't hot at all (13.5 on the label which I believe) so that is appreciated especially from Paso.
Well made for sure, not flabby, not hollow, really tastes good from start to finish.
Nothing to compare it to that I had previously but I would say kind of like a Grenache maybe without the spice. Not lush and fruity like a Zin. Like a Zin light? Or a Pinot extra?
The more I think about it I can say this tastes more old world then new world except it doesn't have some of the earthiness and funk that old world wines can have. I didn't get any brett like the one CT reviewer.
Solid wine worth trying. And it's only 2 bottles so you don't have to commit to a lot. Split it with a friend! Add it to your century club list!

That sounds perfect.
Question. The specs say: tight-grain, thin-stave French oak for 23 months.
How much of that was new?

Great review! I agree with you in that it's worth trying. It's definitely something you don't get to try every day.

Dorothy tries her hardest to keep the alcohol levels as low as possible. Being a female winemaker, she is very conscious of high alcohol wines and wants to be different for Paso Robles!

I noted on your website that the 2006 won a few awards. How does the 2007 compare?

The 2007 has won 2 gold medals and a Best of Show medal along with other awards.

Thanks, I really do not need any more wine, but I like to try grapes that I haven't heard of before. It treated me well before and like you said, it is only 2 bottles.

I'm tempted...
I run a store out of Atascadero, I browse a lot of the local paso wines and try to carry the more affordable ones such as Wild Horse. Just surprised me that I've yet to see this one.

Hey There! I looked at the wrong part of the barrel sheet. The oak on the Graciano is neutral. I apologize! The winemaker doesn't put it in new oak because she tries to keep the fruitiness of the graciano grape. Again, sorry about that!!

So neutral oak and low alcohol. Is this a sweet wine or a dry wine?

So a little air brings out some fruit and it ages well. Decant or no?

The first year we made this was 2006 and it is drinking great right now. It's all we have to go on. I am thinking you would want to have within a couple of years.

It's a solid wine and is very well made, however, it is nothing like a Cab.
