We used to have a group, but it was discontinued by FB, IIRC.

I still haven't found the Hawthorne photos. Must get out the external hard drive....

This gift reminds me too much of the banana stand. There's aaaalways money in the banana stand. Gift gets opened, it's only candy, gets thrown away.

There was $250,000 lining the walls of that banana stand. How much clearer can I say 'There's. Always. Money. In the. Banana Stand!!' No touching!!

There was another group where we posted our screen names with FB names. That's the one I was referencing.

And the SoCal "group" is just Java and myself (since we were the admins) left from the FB group purge.

Cat might remember the name of the original group.

Top 15 Bedbug Cities in US.

I think I'm skipping Ohio this year ... And probably the Clambake as well (New Haven, Connecticut is # 10).

On the upside: Thanks to the convoluted state regulations on liquor sales, you don’t even need to be a Costco member to buy wine there. When the greeters ask you for your membership card at the entrance, just tell them you’re only buying alcohol and they’ll wave you through. Cheers!

is that true? Its on CBS's site, so you'd think so...

Now appearing here, official announcement there, and discussion thread.

...just trying to help... (which is to say discuss it anywhere, but if you want to see what other folks are saying, those would be your first stops)

I'm just hanging out, really.

google says it's true. Is it worth a trip there just to buy wine or liquor, though? I've never been to Costco so I have no idea.

Wife is somewhere over the Atlantic and a new wildfire just popped up. Luckily the winds are somewhat easy and the crews can battle it. This fire is actually in the Albuquerque city limits.

For Father's Day, my wife got a nice rack of ribs for me to cook. So I am trying to smoke them for the first time. The Weber has a smoker box with a burner. Seemed to work fairly well. A couple of tricks to keep it smoking. Also, hard to get temp to 225, more like 275 for the first few hours. So they are done in five hours. Wrapped in foil with some more mop for an hour to get tender. Report later, but so far I am pleased.

And a nice bottle of Zin to go with them.

want to hear neat? The Wallenda family lives in our town. Circus Sarasota has brought the circus back to its roots. It is a 1 ring circus under the big tent, world famous acts preform there once a year. The acts are constantly changing. A couple of years ago the Wallendas did their 7 person pyramid!! The area is small enough that you could actually hear them talking to each other!! About 2 years ago Nik Wallenda preformed. After the show was over, he signed programs and posed for pictures (no charge). I was able to have him sign my program and I got a picture with him!!! Too cool!

That is so neat. What a treat!

My daughter leaves your fair part of the country tomorrow morning. We get to see her briefly on TH, but she is just using this as a place to sleep on her way to ME for a wedding. So we don't really get to see her until she returns after the wedding.

Fathers day was spent with the little one today. It was a bit rough as she was not in the best of moods. Wife is still overseas. Dinner was salmon and the leftover Sangiovese.

As the day went on my daughter got into a better mood. Might end it watching a Disney movie with her before bedtime.

Just got a phone call from our crisis team at school. Mitch, the 8th grader who was involved in the swimming accident earlier this week, passed away this morning. So, tragic. Please continue your prayers for him, his mom & his brother. His dad passed away from cancer a few years ago. So sad.
