These look really nice, not only for bringing along a few chilled IPAs to a gathering, but also for cooling a few cans of Diet Coke on a long drive... Would totally be in for one, but there's absolutely nothing else today on woot! that I want to buy (incl. Woot!Pluses) and so I'm having a hard time justifying the $5 shipping to myself, which puts it at basically $5 per bag...

I bought 9 during a previous woot-off. Have you ever seen how disgusting some of those ice boxes are at hotels? I use these instead. compared to that flimsy plastic sheet they give give you these are much nicer!

Yes, if you travel a lot and like to drink wine, these will make your life much easier. Just try to fit a bottle of wine in most hotel ice buckets, and you'll be ordering these the next day.

Plus, if you have these, you won't have to hassle with calling and tipping room service to bring up an adequate wine ice bucket.

Maybe you have a Jumbowoot coupon that's burning a hole in your inbox?

We've got a couple more hours to get in on the Twisted Oak Plus deal, but I still haven't settled on which one I want. But I'll probably go in for one+another set of these.

So to clarify....

These are colourful waterproof plastic bags box shaped with a flat bottom that are large enough to fit a bottle of wine

And their purpose is that you put a bottle of wine (or whatever) in the bag with ice to keep the drink cool/cool the drink. Until the ice melts and you have a bottle of wine (or whatever) in a bag of water....

Am I understanding this product correctly?

Size matters. Measurements? Or am I missing it somewhere?

That's absolutely correct.

I cam here to post the same thing.

It's basically just a sturdy plastic bag, right? I don't meant this is a snarky way, I'm just trying to understand.

I go to a lot of get togethers where the wine gets pretty warm over a 2-3 hour period. Looks like a good alternative to me bringing over 2-3 ice buckets to keep my wine at serving temperature plus it looks like the footprint is smaller than any of my ice buckets. In for 1, starting to get warm in Cali!

I carry a one liter water bottle to the gym in it (with ice) and it stays cold through my workout.

Ah s***, I'm in for one. Maybe as I sit through work tomorrow I'll talk myself into some random other woot!s I don't really need on the justification that I've already spent the $5 shipping... This 'All You Can Ship' jazz is some sort of triple-upside-down reverse-psychology.

EDIT: I was briefly confused when not asked for my CC security code. Still getting used to this brave new Woot! that has such features in it.

Yay! I am in for three orders. Will make great gifts for friends who, like me, always travel with a bottle of wine but hate trying to keep it balanced while getting chilled in a hotel ice bucket.

I forgot how terrible that was! Last time I was at a hotel Pre-bags I had to take a shopping bag, put the wine in the bag and fill it with ice, tie it off at the top and try to top off ice. Talk about a pain in the butt.

Just realized this is my very first Wine.Woot! purchase. (I am a beer and gin drinker; not so hot on wine.) Now to find something worthwhile to buy on Kids.Woot!, which would complete my Woot! repertoire. (Although I haven't gotten a Bag O' Crap. Also, haven't bought a Dyson...)

Perfect. Going on a cruise in a couple weeks and this will be great.

Didn't even think of how long it might take Woot to ship it.

BTW, has anyone used one? When you pull the bottle out, does all the ice collapse to the bottom making it impossible to reinsert the bottle? I guess it's no different than a bucket.

Excellent! My portable foldable ice bucket fantasy come true!

I was hoping these would pop up again! Now I have a set (or will, once they ship)!

Thanks, Dave & Co.!

the ice stays at the top of the bag. [unless you don't fill it with water]. have you ever used an ice bucket???

en para dos.

Was hesitant last time, always regretted not buying since when I actually used a friends. Drank a nicely chilled sauv blanc out of one in a park with lunch (discreetly).

It's because your deals.woot rep is 0/100! you may want to work on that.

This seems like a good idea at first... until I understood what they were. I thought it was a gel filled bag we could freeze. The idea of the wine bottle sitting in a bag of cold water, ruining labels, isn't appealing. We often take several bottles with us and end up bringing home one or two. The one or two would look pretty gross next trip out.

These are great! I have a party to go to at the end of the month and his gift will be a bottle. What's a party with an unchilled bottle of liquor? Now I can take it chilled and not worry about it getting warm or taking the time to chill it after we arrive! With the other two bags, Im planning on using them when we travel as other wooters recommended. Hotel room fridges dont keep bottles as ice cold as I would like them to be. Plus Im going on a cruise to Cancun in a couple months and this will work to chill my tequilla too.

Thanks woot for giving me an item I can finally buy on wine.woot! These bags took my wine.woot cherry.

Perhaps this will help. The original price is $11.99 ea with free shipping. Thats per bag so at 3 bags you would pay $35.97.

wine.woot for THREE bags $14.99.
wine.woot for SIX bags $24.98.
wine.woot for NINE bags $34.97

So even with $5 shipping you can still get NINE bags for a dollar less than the regular price for three! How much more justification do you need?

I had the same question (also in a non-snarky way). From the description I was getting the feeling that this was something you could put in the freezer ahead of time, which would then keep your wine chilled. We've got some great gel-filled rings that slide over wine bottles for this purpose and the idea of an entire bag that did this had me about to pull the trigger.
It doesn't appear that these bags possess any sort of insulating qualities at all, just looks like a layer of thick plastic, so in the respect it can't really replace an ice bucket, which is insulated so the ice doesn't melt so quickly.
Alas, my wine.woot cherry remains intact...
