What's the drinking window for this 2008 Sauvignon Blanc? Looks like a great deal from JanKris, although I can't remember their last offering...
Wow, nice to see Texas as the only red light in a sea of white on the map. A case is too much for me right now, otherwise, I would possibly be in on this.

It was bad.
Really bad.
What hadn't turned was barely drinkable. Most of it went straight down the drain.
Maybe JanKris has improved since then. Maybe they haven't. But I'm not gonna get burned twice by the same wine maker.
Not for nuthin", but wasn't this pretty much voted the worst wine ever in the woot-bot question/poll? (Oh lord let WD forgive me for this one...thanks)

I didn't have the JanKris sampler, but it couldn't have been as bad as the NoCo Chardonnay (shudder)...I still have nightmares about that wine...

cdmcgowan wrote:I find this difficult to believe. I have made exactly two winewoot purchases and have been disappointed by both. The first was a sampler from Mosaic vineyards that was mediocre at best. The second was a 4-pack of 2008 Wellington Le Pique-Nique Dry Rosé that was absolutely horrible with a strong vinegar note. I have not been bold enough to pull the trigger since, especially after reading so many mixed reviews for the lower-priced offerings on this site.
You represent the vast minority of us here.
There is also a different aspect to wine that doesn't exist with say, TVs -- personal taste. Just because you dislike a wine doesn't make it a mediocre or a bad wine. It just means you didn't like it. As highbrow as this is going to sound, it may be better for you to stick to cheap, grocery store wine which generally has a bit more sugar which makes it more appealing to the masses.

I'm in Hong Kong this week at VinExpo Asia Pacific (I know, it's a tough life) but if you call the winery and have them add your email address to your account you'll be able to order direct. Wooter's who've wooted with us get Club pricing for ever and ever. (right now you'd get 30% of 12 bottles or more on the SB and 1/2 price shipping.
