“In the entire world there are only a few sounds that bring joy to all but the most jaded. One is the murmur of a kitten purring. Another is the thwack of a well-pitched baseball hitting a perfectly swung bat. And the third is the pop of a cork being pulled from a bottle of wine.” —George Taber

Well if Mr. DaSpark thinks there are redeeming qualities to these little gems, who am I to argue? Nothing wrong with another "what the heck it that" wine gizmo!

"Can be used on tool handles, boat rails, fishing rods, and even walking canes"

Uh-huh. Must've come up with this after a marathon product testing session. ;)

That makes sense, Sparky would be the first buyer. He was the only one who bought THIS monstrosity.

When my guests complain that the wine I serve is 'too heavy'. I'll say 'I have something here that will "lighten" it up'.

you'd have to be pouring wine in the complete dark for this to make sense. damn. why is this even a product? even with very minimal lighting i can successfully pour my wine.

Does this work as a stopper also? I need a new stopper/ corker for opened bottles.

If it's dark enough to need this item, I probably shouldn't be drinking; guaranteed I will end up spilling the entire glass when I can't see where to put it down.

If you need a light to pour your wine, how are you going to find your wineglass to drink your wine? Better solution: If you are drinking in the dark, just drink from the bottle! No one can see you anyway.

If it is that dark out then no one will be able to see you just drinking from the bottle anyway.

I'm pretty sure that if you pull this out during any romantic occasion, it will stop being romantic really fast.

This being good for romance is like Cialis helping two elderly people in love have a romantic bath against the sunset--in two separate bathtubs. It's not where you planned on ending up and kinda creepy.

Is this for those times when your spouse says - "NO MORE for you tonight" and yet you still sneak into another room and pour a glass in the dark??

Be thankful...we could have been stuck on that monstrosity forever. It only takes one bad woot to stop a woot off.

Thank god I missed that!

For the sophisticated palette who still has blacklight posters.

I like how it's "Virtually waterproof." What I'd really like to know is if it is completely wine-proof.

How exactly does this attach to the box?

When it's that dark, I use a "bendy straw"...

I'm still looking for a good flosser that will remove the cork from between my teeth. Now that would be a prized Woot-off purchase.

Had to take one for the team on that one. One can always use White Elephant gifts.

And I have a friend with a nice view that lights would destroy. So while smoking cigars, it'll be nice to have a little light while pouring Port into our glasses.

No wine for you!!!

Just a note that these were $20 each over on Amazon.

From an Amazon review: "[This] came with a battery but it is not your standard A battery so replacement will be a bit of a hastle. The Tipsee attached securely to the bottle. You push the button on the bottom to turn it on. After it is on the light is activated when you tip the bottle. The light is extreemly bright and easily illuminates your glass when pouring in the dark. The only negative is that it doesn't turn on until the bottle is already tipped so you are in the dark at first."

I use a cane to walk with and would have liked to try one of these gadgets.

Just in case anyone checks... it sounds like there was a mixup in shipping. I only got one instead of two. The wonderful customer service folks checked and said the vendor is working on fixing the problem. It sounded like I wasn't the only one to get half an order.
Cheers!
