Well, how do you fare compared to the Zeitgeist? Chat up your fellow wooters and let us know how lame this poll was or what obvious choices we missed. For example: Was this poll a) STUPID, b) DUMB, c) POINTLESS or d) ALL OF THE ABOVE?

Need an option of not yet. With the prices that you have been showing it is getting very tempting.

Those options are a little odd, there should be something between 1-2 times a week and once a month. Regardless, the real answer is "It depends how good the woot-off is". My regular answer is 1-2 per month, but I've been known to double or triple that with a good woot-off selection.

Maybe once every few months.

I have other sellers ship wine to Connecticut. I'm not sure why Woot can't.

It's not "woot" that can't. Woot is just a selling agent for the wineries, and as such shipments are sent from the wineries, which must purchase direct shipment licenses to each individual state they wish to ship to. "Other sellers" you mention are likely distributors of the wine who have purchased the wine from the wineries and are re-selling it. They too likely have to purchase distributor licenses, but the processes and money involved can be significantly different.

Write your state legislators. Point to the success stories in other states - Maryland just became shipping allowed in 2011, and they have picked up a ton of tax revenue from it. Convince your reps that it is found money in a time of budget cutting, and win-win for the consumer and the state.
And if they don't listen, well, for most it is an election year.........

Agree about the options. I picked 1/month, but it's more like once every two to three months.

Interesting to see how many people check the wine.woot poll when they've never bought wine, though. I'm sure a lot of those are people who can't get it shipped to their state, but I imagine more just run around checking all the polls on each Woot sub-site every day...whether they have children, drink wine, or like Dyson vacuum cleaners or not.

I check wine.woot and write down the names of the ones that I want to try. Then I go and ask a local store to buy a case, so that I can try it. I'll usually buy a couple bottles. I've been in touch with my representative to try and get the laws eased or outright changed.

Yeah, I don't get the "can't ship to my state thing" either. I live in KY. We have wineries here, and liquor stores depending on the county. The county where we shop just started selling beer, and wine and liquor is forthcoming. I don't drink much wine so I'm not willing to fight this battle, but it would be nice if I could order wine from wine.woot on occasion.

I don't dare calculate how often I buy wine here, or I'd be horrified and have bad dreams.

I only started ordering wine here about 6 months ago and it's been waaay too often. The FedEx guy thinks it's a hoot.

And now that two of my favorite CA vineyards (who don't, yet, sell at Woot) are finally registered to sell to my state, it's only going to get worse. Or better. More.

Well since asked, after almost nine years of the wife refusing to get treatment for her borderline personality disorder had to ask her to go ahead and move out last month. Just to many negative affects on the kids. So when I wake up in my the middle of the night and get thinking to much to get back to sleep bopping through woot and
reading/commenting in the polls is just the right amount of light companionship without being personal enough to remind me how lonely I feel.

I average 1-2 purchases a month.

CellarTracker is a wonderful, wonderful, wonderful thing for tracking wine. However, the way it so easily tabulates your dollars spent is most depressing.
