Awesome! I don't drink much Italian vino though I am beginning to enjoy it. I had this bottle three years Ago and was not too excited...too much barnyard funk. However, last night the fruit was present, acidity was perfect for our red sauce and the finish was smooth an non alcoholic. I think I paid around 22 per and worth every penny IMO

There is a whole NOR-cal contingent that will open our doors gladly for a taste of KRONOS. We'd likely break out another few good wines too! I know trifecta is itching to open a magnum 70's PS from Concannon....

2006 Rocca di Castagnoli Chianti Classico ($9 from LB) with rigatoni primavera and meatballs. Perfectly aged, not over the hill, drinking well for such a cheap chianti. Good acidity, but not too much, and still some soft fruit.

Both. Nice Bdx blend, not your typical CA or NZ SB profile, likely why I rather enjoyed it.

Elk is very lean. Don't get something overly tannic. I'd stick with a PS or Zin, maybe even a Syrah.

PS = overly tannic unless it's really aged.
