2010 Louis Martini Monte Rosso vineyard Malbec. Reminds me a lot of a good young petite sirah. Lots of blue fruit and good tannin.

I posted my notes in CT for the wine. I would say its fair for the price and its a drink now wine, woot has had considerably better rose offerings in the last year so I would not repurchase it.

Either shut down or just not getting better. Pretty tight right now, but still enjoyable. My other one will sleep for a while to see what, if anything, reemerges.

Last night we had my last bottle of 2003 Wellington Syrah Cuvee R. Still very good, but fruit has faded a lot. Before dinner, I noticed what I thought was tea on the palate. Paired with some grilled marinated leg of lamb. Went fantastic with food. So still very good, but glad I finished it off last night. Seemed to be at the end of its wonderful life.

You did entice me a bit on that Barbera last night. I would happily try a bottle, but I'm also really trying to avoid buying. Then again I don't have much Barbera. I'm too easily convinced.

Tonight: Denier-Handal 2009 Petite Sirah, in the decanter. Tasty wine, better than I remember from the last tasting. Almost wishing I got a whole order instead of a single bottle.

Initial thoughts are... delicious. Great balance. Red fruit, fine tannin, umami, black tea. 15+ second finish. Pretty taken aback with this. I was expecting good, but this is very nice.

Thoughts? I had the robert hall rose de robles which is the same price from TJ's and thought it wasn't great. Maybe im just spoiled.

I also stumbled into Tj's today and for scientific purposes I picked up a 2010 Rheingau Pinot, thought since I have never had a German Pinot I would try it.

Well i'm happy it was only 6.99 because i'm pretty sure it's made with water and sugar only. Not sure if there are any grapes used to make this wine..could not pour it down the drain fast enough!
