2006 Schug Carneros Heritage Reserve Chard

Delicious. Complex honey and a touch of caramel. Rich full mouthfeel. Not what I expected, but a pleasant surprise.

Great, I'm glad others are keeping track, because I'm a huge FAIL in that respect, but I do try to not drink that in my custody for others. Pretty sure the 2002 is still available for $13. If there is interest PM me.

It's citrus-y, chalky, nice acid. Pretty nice.

They made Boss Monster (woot cellars) and after a couple/three years (from release), it was very good for the $$.

That's the one. Paid $100 for 6, so between 16 and 17 a bottle. Deep burgundy in color in keeping with its age. Decanted for only about 30 minutes. Quality and taste stayed the same throughout its consumption. Well integrated dark fruits. Smooth start to finish. Some wood detected. Unless LB puts this out as a follow up, this will be hard to find again (sadly).

So I had that 09 Ped. Cab and thought it was mediocre. How long should it be kept before opening, do you think?

I'd say at least another year. And likely can be held for another 5.

AGreed though I ran through mine over a year go!

2011 Orange Crusher and another bottle TBA soon....Orange wine more like a golden color...not very impressed by it. Good but maybe my expectations were heightened by the hype!

From my experience with the 2010 vintage, these take a while to open up. Give it an hour or two
