kyle, the petit reserve viognier is substantially better than the honey moon. the honeymoon is awesome in a peach sangria though.

Wines are great. There are all young and fruit forward though. This particular wine was in bottle for a year + and was still quite tart.
I am always impressed by their whole lineup year after year for the price. The youthfulness of his releases are in part due to the wineries small production and relative popularity. He simply doesn't make enough, so his vintages get released earlier year after year so the winery has product to sell. All his wines for sale today are reds from 2010 and 11'.

It's the Ferrier Vineyard. Pop and pour through a Vinturi and into a decanter. Scent of leather and tobacco, started out a little tight, but seemed to open a little over the two hour period I drank it. A lot of sediment (cork broke too which didn't help). A nice complex wine that would probably do well with another 2-3 years on the shelf. Not as fruit forward as I typically like them to be though, I enjoyed the Syrah from Wellington I had last week much more.

with bacon burgers and sweet potato fries.

2008 Vino Noceto Nutz! Found this at a random wine store in Tucson and had to sample it. Delightful...probably one of the best $8 bottles of wine I've ever had. Yes, better than the Duke, but not by a whole lot.

1990 Château Lafite Rothschild, and a 2002 Shafer Cab Stags Leap (I think) amongst other impressive wines. I lucked out and got seated next to some people with very extensive wine collections. Both were delicious, but I'm not impressed with the QPR

We had a "Somms Under Fire" event in Austin, and I shared a table with other people who have wine lockers where I store my wine. They were nice enough to sneak in some amazing bottles from their collections for us to share at the table.

I like young and old wines and IMHO this wine is beautifully balanced but I don't know the first thing about how wines will age but I will drink a couple/few every year until there gone to see how they progress but really I think these will last a looooong time.
