Actually that's a perfect descriptor..crisp with fruit and a dry finish...at least that is what I am taking from it. Sounds like I should have bought more, I will pop one tonight

Opened the Wellington White Port I acquired on the RPM tour at the Austin WW gathering last night. It was definitely the port of the night for me. It wasn't just a bomb of syrupy sweetness, it had a nice elegance to it.

I really enjoyed it, and I'm not a big fortified wine fan.

I liked it a lot, especially for the price! Nice nose of lemon citrus/flowers and has the acidity to go great with fatty seafood/crab legs. My biggest problem with holding on the shipping until after summer is now it's sold out...did not buy enough

Edit: was bummed the Juslyn seemed heavy and tiring to drink.

2008 Iron Horse Estate Pinor Noir, with snapper Veracruz. Not quite a perfect pairing, but both were so wonderful that it didn't matter.

2011 Curtis Rose, Heritage Series (54 mourvedre, 25 syrah, 21 Grenache). We've never had a Curtis wine we did not like!

Sold out on WL? Agree, great crisp white for the price! Wish I had stocked up for summer!

Working on the '03 Moon Mountain CS I opened the other evening and capped with Ar; tonight with pot roast, smashed taters, mushroom gravy, roasted green beans with grape tomatoes and pine nuts, and spiced beets.

This is not a '97 Ardente for $20 or $22, it's MM for $9. This must have been well filtered, as it is throwing no sediment, nothing. Clear garnet in color, with just a tinge of bricking. This is tasting like an aging cab, albeit a rather simple one. Labeled 13.8% ABV, there is no heat. There is still some fruit, but also leather, to me well integrated with mild tannins and a medium finish. I'm finding I prefer aged cabs, even if I can't afford them. If I could pick up a case at this price I'd not hesitate. For me, it's got a few years left. YMMV.

So far I am not impressed and a bit bummed. It was from straight from the bottle. I will let another glass sit for awhile and the rest of the bottle will stay until tomorrow. Hopefully things will open up with time.

A lover of Italian wines and this one is making me sad. It has some glowing reviews on CT, however I know all about CT.

3 hrs later and there is more fruit, but still lacking. Here's to hoping tomorrow brings better flavor

Color is reminiscent of apple juice, nose is all Carmel and no fruit. On the tongue it is rather heavy with lots of Carmel in the finish. Not good at 8 years old.

Something to go along with spicy wanton soup. Probably another 2011 Trader Joe's Petit Reserve (Castoro Cellars) Viogner.

Probably the Taft street 10' Sonoma rose of Pinot

Did you ever try the Honey Moon Viognier at Trader Joes? It was recomended by someone on the boards. I don't live near a Trader Joes but will try this next time I am near one. Would love your input.

I haven't tried that one. I can tell you that for $7, the one I'm drinking is an easy, easy buy. If I see the Honey Moon next week when I go grocery shopping, I'll pick it up and post it here.

Geez that's great! I can recomend a spicy red called Cocobon. I am a Zin lover, but this wine is 6.99 at Trader Joes and I love it just for plain old drinking while waiting for the hubby to come in for dinner during the week.
