09 Spann Vineyards Mourvèdre. Just what I needed this eve'. Along with salmon and veggies grilled in a smoker bag.

Honestly, such a non-recipie. The wife bought me these foil 'smoker bags' from Williams Sonoma or somewhere like that.
Chopped up some potatoes and carrots, threw them in along with some scallions. Took a nice salmon filet and coated it with olive oil, added some lemon salt/seafood spice. Placed the fish on top of the veggies in the bag. Also included some cremini mushrooms and sweet peppers, both stuffed with Krab and parmesan cheese. Closed the bag, threw it on the hot grill.
Grilled for 15-20 minutes on med/high heat while finishing up a 1/3 bottle of Radog riesling and watching the Sonoma sunset.
Pulled it off, cut the bag, served along with the aforementioned Mourvedre, and voila.

1997 Ardente Estate Winery Library Cab with homemade brunswick stew from scratch. Wonderful wine, good food, great friends. Finished the night off with some Apple Eiswein straight from Germany.
Such a better night than last night when I found out my little one was allergic to crab. Boy that was a crappy evening.

Finally got around to drinking
2007 I Giusti & Zanza Dulcamara Toscana IGT
This wine is from Italy and there is no doubt about that from the nose or the palate. Delicious.

Forgot how much I like a Tempe. Went well with some broiled salmon, brussels sprouts and a pilaf.
What's up with you people and brussel sprouts?! You and PB have both eaten them in the past week. Bleck!

Decant. It's tight as hell on the PnP. It opens into a really nice ST, though.

schaeferr wrote:Has anyone had wine from the Black Stallion Winery in Napa? My wife and I purchased a bottle of their 2010 Cabernet at a restaurant the other day and were totally blown away. It was phenomenal.
I looked for it in our local stores (in Houston, TX), but couldn't find it. I've had very little luck finding it elsewhere on the internet, except from their website (where, confusingly, the 2010 Cab. is not available).
I'm relatively new to Wine.Woot, has Woot ever sold any offerings from this winery? Anyone else on this board had experience with this winery?
They have not been on W.W., but Sparky has been there it seems. http://wine.woot.com/forums/viewpost.aspx?postid=3618520&pageindex=7&replycount=284#post3799741
Sorry. I'm on my phone or I'd like it.
