Agree. My limited experience with Gerwutz has been cloying and sweet. This one is bone dry and crisp. Ive enjoyed every Tercero wine I've had. Others are beginning to catch up because his production for many of his upcoming vintages is growing. Hate it when a hidden jewel is discovered by the masses. Good for him, bad for me. Kinda like Arcade Fire.

Saw your photo. And was that a vertical, or three of the same wine? And what was it?

We opened a vertical of Domaine Breton Bourgueil “Les Perrieres”, a cab franc. Years were '85, 93, 96, and 99. It was pretty interesting to taste these all at once. Some had green pepper, others had barnyard. Some of the corks didn't look the greatest, but the wines all looked clear, with not much sediment.

The Insignia was outstanding, as was the 1869, which is really zinfandel done right. Heck the 92 Riesling and the Gewurztraminer
were also excellent, and went well with dinner.

Finished off the night with a pendrocelli port.

Friends came over to help with some leftover turkey and inaugurate Compounded the board game. They brought Renwood 2008 Syrah. Good but nothing special.

Then we opened a 2005 McClean Syrah Rose. Tasty.

Then they left to take their baby home and we opened a 2005 Twisted Oak Sir Ron Yeah (that's Syrah-Viognier...get it?!). Deliciousness.

This producer. And he's a cool dude. He's really active on the WLTV boards. Tyger and I split a 6 pack of this from Wine Spies at $20 per. Other than this, I'm hunting with you. I've heard good things about Zelpatas (tyger?) and they have a $20 bottle WL carries. I haven't had anything from him yet, though.

That was a killer deal on Wine Spies! I am hording the last two bottles.

Ryan Zepaltas makes great Pinot imho. I have only tried the Sonoma Coast and the RRV bottles, both fantastic. I just started to buy them from the mailing list. I have not received the cheaper bottles from WL but i'm hoping for the best, btw K@L has his 12 Rose for 10.99 right not and I hear they are great.

Good article about him here.

Tonight, a very interesting, soon-to-be-seen white blend with sushi. I'm very interested to try it. For specificity's sake, I'll be eating uni and ankimo, assuming the restaurant has both. No clue what SWMBO or the in-laws will be eating.

Darn internet filters at work did not let me access the article. Anyway, the $11 Rose sounds like a deal! CT scores for previous vintages are great...Have you had any of his roses? I may need to order a six pack but the shipping ($16) is holding me back...times like these that I appreciate WW shipping
