You are correct sir ! Just checked and order was cancelled. Wonder if Woot bought the remaining stock?

Wait.... essentially $17 for 3 lbs of mushroom and you have to do the work.

How is this a good deal again?

Let the Mycelium grow!!

Is the lion's mane tastier when cooking? or why is this your favorite? because of the way it looks and feels?

YUM!!! The instructions regarding the leeks made me ponder this question - do we need to brush off any 'dirt' (or coffee grounds) - like we are suppose to do with the other mushrooms?

while wine is acceptable to be shipped direct from the winery in some states, beer is not. AFAIK, it is illegal to sell beer across state lines direct to consumers.

Great question!

You'll want to dust off any residual coffee grounds with a paper towel. If you're cooking them right away, feel free to remove any residual coffee with a damp cloth or paper towel.

However, I'd avoid submerging or giving them a vigorous bath.

Fresh mushrooms are best!

Because it's fun to grow your own things? No one said you had to buy it.

Is it worth it? How much can you expect to harvest, how often and how long does it last? Does the fungus regenerate?

Right in the description:

Grow up to 1 1/2 lbs of tasty pearl oyster mushrooms
Multiple crops (at least 2, though some have got up to 4)
Grow your first crop in as little as 10 days

Hey! Great questions!

You can expect to harvest up to a pound and a half of mushrooms!

The kits are shipped in a dormant state until you open and soak the kit in water. After your first and second harvest, the kit can still produce if there's healthy white mycelium (mushroom 'roots') growing on the coffee grounds.

We guarantee a six month shelf life and two harvests (one on each side of the box)! Some customers have experienced more growth (3-4 harvests).

The mushrooms last for a few days once harvested...although they taste best freshly plucked!

I grabbed two. My two year old will get a big, old kick out of it - and maybe I can introduce her to eating mushrooms. And if she hates them, more mushrooms for me!

DAMN YOU, ADHD!!! I had decided to pull the trigger and buy the mushroom garden about twenty-three minutes ago, but then got side-tracked responding to some trivial message and completely forgot about ordering until I glanced at the time, which was then passed the Wooting hour. I'm really hoping these make another appearance here in the future.

These are great. I purchased dried oyster mushrooms in the store for $2.99 for 2.5 oz (works out to $19.14/lb) I easily got 1 3/4 lbs per box when harvested.

Small note of potential hope: It took a long time for mine to get going (more than 10 days I think) but they finally did. I watered (or misted) them more than 2x a day. Came out with a nice bunch which I just recently harvested. May just be a matter of waiting a few more days and misting the hell out of that sucker.

Thanks for the reassurance.

I've got something happening now. Took about 10 days but it's up to about the size of a golf ball now. Equal parts cool and creepy.
