Love the name on the wine: "Dontspilli". Because the Barrel Stave won't spill your wine, as long as the cork is in the bottle.

Beautiful form. Makes any wine bottle an instant art object. But, uh...yeah, well...

They are great gifts for people you don't know very well and end up bringing a bottle of wine.

It can be hard to balance a pinot if the bottle is bottom heavy.

If the Pinot is bottom-heavy, I'd most likely rather drink it than give it to someone I don't know very well. For them, obscure southern French blends will do.

These make awesome gifts. My boss loves the one I gave her!

I bought 3 of these the last time they were up. I have to say that the figure and stain on these pieces are so unique to themselves and what you generally think of as a "wood product" that they are an immediate conversation piece and speak to the truth in materials and the process to make the wine we enjoy. I understand if all my friends and I got together and just passed around and drank out of the bottle it would be a waste money. That is not the case and I imagine that it is worth a couple of seconds everyone complains it takes to balance the bottle to present it perched inside a testament to it's own creation.

Bought three of these last time for gifts, and on the whole, good - but around the holes, there is some tear out, which keeps them from being as nice as they should be. They are decent gifts but not great; all three had the problem.
