We love this wine... dinner, sipping, whatever! In for 3... It's a great bargain! This is our 6th Copa purchase - half cabernet sauvignon/ half merlot.

Bought this on the last posting. If I remember correctly: An easy drinker cab. Not too bold, can sip it on it's own casually or can be easily paired with food as it doesn't over power. A great "stocker" wine for the cellar. And at the price point a great one to grab for a party gift. In for one.

Edit: Benefits greatly from breathing or aerating.

I'be had good luck with Chilean reds, both from restaurants and wine shoppes. They've been very good "value" wines that are full bodied and taste more expensive than they are.

That said, I have not had this one in particular.

I noticed in the previous offering (10/2011), someone mentioned this wine is great for making a red sangria! Well -- that make a perfect intro for...

In honor of "National Drink Wine Day", come join us tonight for the Wine.Woot Cyber Wine Tasting event of the year: 2012 Fruit Forward & Fabulous!

Pick up a bottle (or two or three) of your guilty pleasure wine. Something big, bold, jammy, and fruity! The wine you're afraid to admit you love! The over-ripe Pinot Noirs. The grapefruity NZ Sauv Blancs. The sweet, grapey moscatos. The rich, jammy Cabs. Come join us in a cyber-tasting and love-fest of all those great treats!

We don't have an official start time, so plan on popping in anytime after 7pm with a glass in hand, a snack on the plate, and smacking the ol' F5 just like it's a woot-off! Only slower!

If this was the Chardonnay, I'd definitely be in! How does this compare to other reds we've seen on woot for a similar price?

This is my last Woot wine purchase. I have gotten nothing but duds. Hoping this wine is better than the others.

this one got bad reviews the last time it was offered. ouch. pass for me. apparently it makes a mighty tasty sangria though.

Got a case of this last November (bought on 10/15). Quite good and well worth the price (on Turkey Day it blew away another Chilean Cab Sauv that cost my my sister almost triple).

I really don't have room for anything else right now, so I'm going to sleep. If it is still here tomorrow, I'll take it as a sign that I should get more.

Bought this Cab on a previous offering from wine.woot and was very pleased. It's an excellent value at this price. Definitely toying with picking up six more...

On road trip but had to check the wine. Glad I did , purchased last offering. Great wine for the price. I'm for two or three.

I really don't need any wine, but feel compelled to get a case of this stuff for at least five reasons. First, they ship to the Free State. No Woot-Legging for me! Second, we really liked the Chardonnay when that was up here. Third, this looks like a real value for the price, and the descriptions make it sound like a wine I would like. Fourth, I have a coupon (!!!!!!!!!) that I want to use up before I forget about it and let it expire (thanks Woot). And fifth, they ship to Maryland!

I think the negative comments during the previous woot referred to the 2008.

Based on the comments today, it sounds like wooters liked the 2009.

I decided to give this a try last go round and was pleasantly surprised at how nice it turned out, for the price.

Out of the bottle is was just fair, but we decanted it and found out it came into it's own and was a pleasant, inexpensive Cab to enjoy with a quick pasta dinner.

In other words, it more than held it's own just fine against most $8-12 bottles of Cab....once it was decanted.

Purchased last time. No brainer this time. In for two. At this price point a very nice everyday wine.

Bought it last time around and had reasonable expectation based on the various community notes. Even at the low price points I can find much better wines. Yes, taste is personal and many wooters are enjoying this wine. Sadly I'm not one of them.

I did not get an aroma or a taste that I enjoyed. It did not open up after an hour or two. My sense of taste is not refined as many in this great community, but I do know what I like and what I don’t.

This is not for me.

I have tried previous Copa Del Rey offerings (the Chardonnay and the Merlot) and found them to be pleasant wines and a good value. With that in mind, in for one!

Got this last time on the edge to pull the trigger, for 8.25 a bottle it wasn't bad but there are some great deals at Ralph's in So Calie right now were I get a much better cab for 7-8 bucks

So far I've had nothing but good luck with my orders. I picked up the Copa Del Rey 2008 Merlot sixer this past December and it has been amazing (finished a half bottle last night with a Gurkha Legend cigar-great combo). The first bottle I opened had a surprising spiciness that quickly mellowed. As I've only two bottles left now, I figure it's a good time to restock. As good as the 2008 Merlot is, I'm trusting this CS to be equally fantastic.

Bought the Merlot last time and although it took a very long time to get, I feel it was worth it. In for one too.

I bought a case of this back in October, still have 3 or 4 bottles of it left. It's decent, great deal at this price, but obviously not a higher end cab. There's a pretty prominent vanilla flavor to it, if that's not your thing I'd say stay away; it does mellow after decanting however...

In for one; the '08 became no-brainer go-to when I wanted a glass to drink while cooking, or any other casual occasion. Also good to wash down a meal, but not one I'd bring to a dinner as a house present.

I apply the same criteria to the '08 Merlot, which I just cracked a bottle of last night.

Copa del Rey is becoming an auto-buy when I need to fill in some slots in my collection.

For those that follow oddities, wootalyzer just went from low stock to 70%. I've seen things like this happen before, like with Orange Crusher when WD ran out but then replenished, much to the delight of all. Perhaps this is moving faster than anticipated. Ahhh, just dropped to 60% while I was composing. Seems popular, drink up? $9.17 for a single woot/bottle -is- one of the lower price points we ever see.

True that. but where are the reviews for the 2009? i mean, if this is about the same in quality as a 2 buck chuck, why pay more?

I bragged to my friend who is a frequent whine wooter that I had ordered the Copa the last time it was offered (Merlot) and then he pulled out a bottle of the Cab which he had plenty of left over from a previous offering. The Cab was overly tannic, almost undrinkable.

I would stay away unless you have an aerator and a supply of dark chocolate to pair this with.

That being said, I was very pleased with the Merlot when it came. Nothing special, but very drinkable and a great value for the money.

Woot shipping is slow damn slow.
I hate buying items from woot as it always takes weeks to get things!

We got ours Friday and quickly put one in the fridge. The description sounded like it would be a wine we would like. It was awful, absolutely disgusting. We can't imagine anyone would like this, there has to be something wrong with it. We make our own wine every year from Concord grapes 15-30 gallons, and last year something went wrong, allowed air in or something. It was pretty bad, my wife forced herself to drink it and I tried but quit after suffering through several glasses, we will be dumping at least 10 gallons. Our bad wine is better than what we received.

Can't beat wine.woot service, agreed to a full refund, no hassles, won't have any concerns buying from woot again. Couldn't be more satisfied. Thanks woot service!

Ended up making a decent, but overpriced, SanGria... that's about it. I did like Copa's chard though.
