They could eat it. Most pet stores sell catnip and "Cat grass", where the cat grass is just wheatgrass (or rarely, Oat grass).

So, if you want this for your cats, there should be no problem. Google it to get the details on it if concerned.

Another upside: If you've ever bought one of those composters from the other Woot sites, this is a great way to grow something you can throw right in there.
