Ya, for me its Brandini Toffee, Le Caramel, and Rain Republic... And to have them all available within a couple weeks.... Disaster strikes

Oh Joy! Oh Bliss! Thanks to the Woot Powers That Be for bringing back this delicious deal.

I made the mistake of purchasing one last time. After my first bite, I wept, knowing I should have gone in for three.

These are a truly delicious chocolate covered salted caramel.

I tried to find a substitute, but others are no match for this.

The caramel is perfect. It's soft, but not too soft. I never fear pulling a filling out while eating these. The salt to chocolate to caramel ration is just right for creating what is, in my opinion, the perfect combination of salty and sweet.

You could let your children try these, but I think the salt might be a bit too much for their taste buds.

Stay away from this if you don't like a crunch to your salty and sweet combo. There is no way to mistake this for a regular chocolate covered caramel. The salt is sprinkled liberally on top.

Purchase this if you love caramel, but have avoided it for all the chewing it requires. This is defintely a melt in your mouth treat.

In for three.

There's no way :/

These are being shipped the horribly misnamed "SmartPost." That's >1 week in transit time alone.

AND THEY ARE NOT BALSAMIC.

The 1st time I had these my mind was blown clear up in to the exosphere. They are simply AMAZING.

Bought these last time they were available, had one a day for a while. They lasted without being put in the fridge. Great chocolates, and well worth the cash.

You need salt in baking. It helps stabilize the flour, etc.

These are great! The creamy caramel and chocolate are great and well balanced by the salt. Wonderful candies, I'm buying 1 set for last minute gift giving and one for myself. I must have been good this year.

Bought three through my account, three through my wife's account, and three through the MIL's account. That should keep us covered until the New year!

(PS: We finished one entire box the very day they arrived the last time!)

There is something about the dark chocolate, caramel, and salt that just lights up the taste buds. Unfortunately, you have to also purchase the milk chocolate variety here, which takes me out of the game. Milk chocolate is peasant food and has no place on upscale wine.woot.

I usually am not a huge chocolate fan, but the combo of salt, caramel, and great quality chocolate is mind blowing.
I am in for 3, if nothing else, for me, with a good dry red wine in the eve for my dessert.

Both are delicious, but I personally prefer the dark, while the friend for whom I'm considering getting these as a gift preferred the milk chocolate, so the solution is obvious - go in for two and swap them out!

I've the same shipping-related query as others, though: what's the chance we'll be able to get these over here on the important coast by the end of next week?

Great stuff. I prefer the dark though I so I preferred the last offering!

Are you purposefully trying to be rude or does it just come naturally?

Please be aware that there are others who might think differently. Opinions on wine - and chocolate - are highly subjective.

Both of the discerning individuals with whom I shared these chocolates thought that although both were delicious, the milk chocolate slightly edged out the dark as their favorite.

So why don't we all just agree to disagree. Politely.

I wish that I could choose between all dark or all milk chocolate. I can do without the milk chocolate. The last time I bought these, they were about 3/4 dark chocolate, so there weren't as many milk chocolate ones to suffer through. I think I'm going to pass this time.

Never had these before but in for 2 (four pounds of delicious caramels!) based on this community's feedback alone! Thanks for all the critiques, I feel all warm and fuzzy about my purchase!

And of course I'm extra pleased at the fantastic deal these are. Buying 6 ounces of mixed fleur de sel caramels off the candy maker's website is $9.95 plus shipping, so putting an almost equivalent weight amount of caramels in the shopping cart with shipping, the total was about $115 for just UNDER four pounds. Woot, indeed!

Okay first of all I can tell you that these are great. The salt experience is heavenly.

However, if you have a Costco membership they sell these things in either 32 ounce or 48 ounce plastic containers for $10

Yes, I said you can get a similar thing at Costco for $10. For $30 up close to having three times as much chocolate

NOT THAT'S IMPORTANT!!!

OCH! MISTLETOE FRENCHING? GROSS!, these are awesome! I love the milk chocolate, not so much a fan of the dark chocolate. I ate the milk chocolates and took the dark ones to work, where I was threatened to never bring them in again since they ruined many diets among my coworkers. Very tasty stuff. However, after I was threatened by my cardiologist, I cannot partake in these delicious choccies this time around. I will dream about them, however.

Any chance (One in a million? So you're telling me there's a chance?) that these would arrive before 12/23? DW mentioned these just last week, and I wouldn't want to miss out.

Dude... wait, what?

These are absolutely delicious. I bought this deal last time it came available and it was worth it. Plus who doesn't want 2 lbs of chocolate mailed to their door. It is a good time to buy because its cold and the chocolate will not melt upon being shipped.

The last few wine.woot days are going to fill me with remorse when my credit card statement arrives... But I do still need one of these (and only one, never tried them before and I'm really REALLY picky about my chocolate). I am a milk chocolate fan when its a nice high cocoa content, and I plan on getting some of those cute little takeout boxes and putting 4 or 5 of the dark chocolates in each as part of this years annual food gift baskets. I am going to be everyones favorite family member..

craiggery wrote:can someone please explain to me the deal with salt on chocolate? i seem to be seeing more of this recently and i think it's nasty but apparently it has become very popular.

i did see the little "sweet and salty" thing in the write-up but that doesn't really explain anything

I also thought it was strange until I tried it. Now I can't get enough of the combination (salted caramel hot cocoa is great as well)!

If you'd like to get the idea without spending this much, there's now a Wonka bar called "Triple Dazzle Caramel" that you should be able to pick up at just about any grocery store for $1-$2. I'm sure it's not up to the quality of this offering, but it's decent and will give you the idea of how the combination tastes.

If she's into chocolate, you can probably disguise it as buying 6 pounds of chocolate, with the caramel being extra. ;)

She's not (at least not nearly to the level that I am), but she is a wonderful woman, and just gave me the go-ahead. So in for 3!

I know I'm going to be paying for this come Valentine's Day when she's all "hey honey, why don't we buy this lovely set of earrings" and I won't be able to say no. But I guess that's what compromise is all about. I get delicious chocolate, and she gets a hunk of metal and rock. Works for me!
