It has a different tang to it when you try to taste it, yes.
I'm just hanging out, really.

It's gift week people!!!
We have 51 weeks, filled with wine 86% of the time. I think we can all survive a week with only 3 wine offers.

I got one here too, maybe a year ago and it's still going strong with nearly-weekly use. A few weeks ago, I was wishing for a second one, so I may pick up this set.
Yes, it's double-walled so my hands don't freeze while shaking, but it's a bit wider than a travel mug, if that's what you're thinking, jjhu. You also couldn't really drink out of it, and the strainer in the lid isn't a fine mesh. It keeps ice cubes back, but wouldn't keep loose tea out of your drink.
I have some mobility/grip issues with my hands, and this is a really easy shaker for me to use. I've heard complaints about the lid being difficult to clean, but I've never had trouble - I wash it almost immediately after use (or soak if I can't get to it right away) and then rinse really well, let air dry. (I've never put it in the dishwasher.)
Edit: I just put a little loose tea in it with water, waited a moment, and poured. It definitely didn't hold back any of the tea. Otherwise, it would be a great way to carry hot tea (with a separate cup to drink from). Yep, I'm in for one more for those times I need to serve two kinds of cocktails and don't want to be stuck washing one shaker every five minutes.

Easy using that "we" there, killer. I rather enjoy gift week. In fact, I have purchased three gifts! Imagine that. Ok, two were for me, but I deserve presents, too! And lest "we" (and by that, I mean, you) forget, we have had three wine offers since the start of gift week. Take into consideration: during a normal week, we would have had 5 offers by this point. So, we're only one off pace (since we normally have one non-wine item per week). I think "we" can handle one extra non-wine item without having a meltdown. At least I can.
