We have food allergies at our house, so this is tricky for us. I'd love some quality meats and cheeses, or even a meal in a box (we used to be members of a great pasta club), but now we have to be more careful. Still a good dinner is a great gift everyone needs and it doesn't add to the clutter, even if it adds to the waistline.

I always gift a foodbasket to my dad for xmas when he visits -- even if it's one i put together myself from grocery store runs. All ready to eat items to help pinch some pennies on his 1200 mile drive home.
