It may take a couple of days to restore those before they can start to repair more local grid damage, etc. Over a week to get everyone back. My wife is still there. Fortunately, neighbors with a generator have here staying there tonight. No heat and no water with no power.

Not clear at this point if she will make it out for the wedding. Bad situation, but only long term damage will be lost trees.

Sorry for all of the weather issues. Do you guys have a natural wood burning fireplace? Thats' what saved us five years ago. Does your water get pumped up to the house? Our water worked. We even had hot water. Plus, we used the aim & flame to start up the electronic ignition on the stove top. Good luck. I hope your wife makes the wedding.

We were home for Halloween this year. Bought a big bag of candy. We had 1 trick or treater. lol

I think my daughter loves Halloween more than Christmas. We walked two miles easy. That's a lot for four year old legs. I bet she got ten pounds of candy easy. She's so cute everyone gives her two pieces. She was an ice cream cone, everyone loved it.

That's awesome.

Did you go as yourself to really scare people or did you put on a costume?

Also, were you interested in a Soireieiee? I have an extra that I'll send to you for cost...

I'm waiting to hear back re the details and if I can get some Graciano. Yum! If not, Cat I'll order with you. May I let you know by late tonight or tomorrow am?

klezman, or anyone else for that matter, you are welcome to ship here, just PM for address. (It goes to my mail box store.)

Yeah tomorrow is just fine. He'll probably get you in on this shipment though. :-)

Eh, it would mess up the free shipping on a case... tenuki is getting some, he can perhaps get yours from me in Vegas if you're interested.

Ok so I have:

Hak - 1
Tenuki - 2
CAGrl - 3

Leaves 2 unclaimed, sanity has first dibs, followed by klezman. Klez, you could probably also include with sanity if she gets reinstated since it is flat rate shipping. Alternatively, in the unlikely event sanity can't get it right now, I can further increase my order without affecting shipping since I'm already at the case.

OK, let me know I'm good with 2 or 3. Leaning towards 3 because it was so tasty. Although I need to save room for the upcoming Parcel 17 and Sir-Ron-Yeah. Decisions, decisions. I'm hoping to make it to bottling, but if not maybe tenuki has even more space to bring back wine? Or will I be in SoCal by then?

Yes, I do want to make bottling this time around. If I'm coming from LA I suppose I'll just drive and then it's moot. I really need to make these decisions soon. Regardless I do want 2 or 3 Graciano, how it gets to me is less an issue aside from any shipping/tax related costs that can be shaved off.

Fireplace. Check. Only source for warmth in the house. Not enough to call it heat though. She spent last night at the neighbor's who have a generator. Sun got the bedroom to about 52 degrees, so she plans to spend the night at home.

She was prepared, so water in the tub for flushing, but no showers, etc. Again, the neighbors. Electric stove, but the gas grill works fine.

Since there is still no power, she is not planning to come out. Wants to be home when the power comes on to check things out. And with change fees, she isn't sure it will be worth trying to come in later.

Pretty crazy.

And thanks to all for the good thoughts. Still some hope that the power comes back overnight and she can make it in.

If that's going to be the plan then I can do the same. Although if tenuki, sanity, CAgrl and I are collectively getting a case worth, does that make it easier to ship directly to one of us? Or does that mess up cat's order?

Well, I sent cat the money for 3 bottles. I think she said that if I got 3 then she would have 2 leftover. If sanity and klezman want to split 3 bottles between the 2 of them, then I can part with 1 of the bottles. I think if we try to get it shipped to ourselves, it messes cat up.

I thought of the grill, but wasn't sure what kind you guys had. We spent a lot of time in front of the fireplace five years ago. We even moved a table directly in front of the fireplace for dinner. It was quite romantic except for the fact that my friend from Texas had arrived just at the beginning of the storm and was dealing with depression and refused to even go outside! (She's a Buffalonian by birth for crying out loud!) We weren't asking her to walk under falling branches--just get some fresh air!

Tell your lovely wife to hang in there and we hope that she has heat soon.

Anybody got any 36 hour days that they can loan me? Or, any extra sleep? I went to a class tonight (from 4:30 - 7), sponsored by our Teachers' Center. It was on autism. I thought it would be a good idea, since I have a student who is autistic. Part 2 is tomorrow. It was definitely worth my time and gave me some new and fresh insights. I plan on sharing some of the handouts with my aide. Finished dinner and soon, I will have to get baking the Pan de los Muertos (Bread of the Dead) for my Life Skills Spanish class! I have a really nice sweet bread recipe that is a hit every time!
