Is this a sweeter wine? I know nothing about wine and tend to go towards the dessert variety. Late Harvest is usually a good sign.

Can the alcohol % and residual sugar levels be explained?

Many (most?) Zinfandel desert wines have a much higher alcohol content. This has a lower alcohol content than plenty of other Zinfandel offered right here on wine.woot.

I went in for this one, but this is it. I'm done purchasing wine, until I can at least drink down my stash a little bit. You guys are really bad for my space and wallet.

W00T & Wellington. Say no more, in for three of those tiny 375's... Absolute no brainer. Not the first to woot, but got the first 12 in CT.

The description mentions this wine has good aging potential, but is it ready to drink now?

Over the past several days I've been thinking about our beloved Mr. Wellington, and all of his farming colleagues, as I've watched lots and lots of rain fall on the heels of a cool summer. It's supposed to get warm next week, so hopefully the under ripe grapes that have not yet been harvested are salvageable. I would love to hear Peter's opinion on the 2011 vintage.

Oh, and in for two even though we don't usually drink a lot of wine with this much sugar!

This offer is a big coincidence for us, since we'll be dropping in at Peter's wine club release party tomorrow, and we have plans to visit Dick Handal with texacaliali and a bunch of other wooters on Sunday. Worth flying out from the East Coast for a weekend in the Dry Creek Valley at harvest time.

I wondered the same till my wine buying friend pointed out it was a dessert wine. Makes sense now that I look at the stats. The Meyer Family Port that was available recently has a RS of 6%, and is also a zin. I haven't tried it yet though. Once this Woot Cellars comes in maybe I'll open one of each and try them side by side.

I believe small bottles are actually fairly typical for late harvest and other dessert type wines.

Only my fourth woot off wine.woot, but after the first three and the amazing reaction to this deal, Im in for 2!

Will there be lab-rats for this offer? My wine cellar overfloweth so I'd really like some first hand reviews to help push me over the edge on this one...

Kudos on the write up. I don't even drink wine and I was tantalizingly taste teased by the description into wanting to buy one.

I'm not afraid to admit I'm a n-o-o-b when it comes to wine. Can anyone tell me what the benefits would be for storing/aging a wine like this?
