Migraines suck. A few months back I was getting ocular migraines. Great part was they came with no pain at all...downside was my vision was crazy. Scared the crap out of me till I was diagnosed. I'll take the insane vision problem that I know will clear up when the migraine is over verses the pain any day.

Are there any meds you can take prior to being in the sun that would help you?

My ocular migraines trigger full on migraines, you're lucky, I've never had one that wasn't painful.

No, there isn't anything I can do for the sun other than wear a floppy hat which I lost again. Try to go out at dusk, stay in the shade, that's about it.

Checking on my prescription because it's probably low, that may help some.

Ugh. I get those too. Got one a few days ago. The thing that stinks is that I can't see for 30 minutes until the lightshow goes away. Then, an hour after that, massive headache. Suxors. None of the typical migraine meds work for me either, as it just replaces a migraine with a massive sinus headache.

But hey, I can say Last Post on page 1 of a 100 thread, eh?

I need to get my eyes checked, that's probably part of the return of the migraines.

Of course you can say last post on the starting page of the thread, but you need to keep coming back and keep saying it. Remember when we had two last post threads and they'd close every couple months?

So, what you are implying is that you are indeed a Vampire. I do believe your Migraines are a side effect of your thirst... This is just speculation of course...

I do wonder why all migraines that affect eyesight aren't called ocular migraines...seems misleading.

It does doesn't it. I guess there is some reason. I actually have ocular migraines that used to be so bad I'd lose vision for hours. Just really low vision with very low light perception. It was worst the semester I took ornithology. I'm so glad I had such an awesome instructor, do you know what it's like trying to identify dead specimens with minimal visual acuity? The lecture was theory and physics, I had such an A that I ruined the lecture curve, averaged out to passing when paired with my lab score. ID is not my strong suit.

Thanks LP. My Uncle wrote out the estimated time-table and it should all be over by Thanksgiving. I told my Mom I'd help in anyway we can, but with school it'd probably be me and the baby or just Orc that could help. She doesn't think she'll need help, so I hope things go well. These are the times I don't like living 6 hours away.

Thankfully your parents aren't in their 90's and six hours while dealing with it all. Your mom got you through everything you had to deal with and most likely she'll be able to handle whatever she needs to with your dad too. You're doing the right thing in keeping the communication open so they're fully aware if they need you at any point that you're a phone call away. I'm sure that means more to both of them then you could know.

True true! Plus my sister and her husband are there. And my grandma is next door. She may not be able to do a ton, but she keeps my Mom sane, she can drive, and she cooks well. They actually have a lot more people around to help than we do.

I do not know. Maybe I do, but I don't think I do...

Yeah, we are the only ones not there. Sometimes we think about moving there, but it's such a miserable area. It's like a miniture LA, very heavy car culture (you have to drive everywhere and 30 mins is considered down the street) and everyone has TV, and the recycling centers are a joke (seriously, they don't have anyone that takes plastic!) And that's all before we consider the important stuff like schools and access to science and technology...

And you have to drive all over the place to get anywhere, and finding an adequate school is difficult and a good school, nigh on imposible. Oh and it's hot, it's the desert.

edit to clarifiy: The no recycling is a big deal. We recycle about 65% of our trash right now, and with a little work on our own we could probably get that closer to 80% (especially when we are done with diapers). The TV thing, TV is huge there. Everything is about TV. No one has anything to talk about but TV, and the local college football team, which sucks. Oh and what they watched last night on TV. There are a ton of movie theaters for when you want to see something before it comes to the TV. There's not much else. I mean they have a small shakespeare theater, but it's tiny. But who needs Shakespeare and activities and whatnot when you've got TV.

Thanks, I am a bit bummed too. We had the option of pulling the littles out of school today and having Ver1 miss her back to school dinner (that she's been talking about for over a week), and going again today, but we are very glad we didn't, everyone is far too tired.

Nope, I don't have J5 or J3 on facebook, I hate when new friends (and old) ghost too.
