Thread for discussing fantasy football 2011.

I've renewed the WW1 league, so folks who were in that league should have gotten emails. I don't think I'm going to have time to do it this year, though, so if someone could please take over as commish, that would be great. It's not hard with this type of league--just set the draft date & time and let everything else play out.

I definitely would not have time to commish as I am in a few other leagues, but I would love to participate if you guys have an opening.

I'm up for another year of high scoring losses

After going undefeated last year, I feel I should retire. However, I will play again, and my true colors will show.

And did WD commit to something for the winners last year, or did we try to commit for him?

I'm assuming I was in the other league, since I haven't gotten any such email yet.

Anyone who didn't play last year who wants to play this year will be guaranteed a spot if you'll take over commish duties. :-)

Seriously--the time commitment was a few minutes to set the draft time, otherwise I spent no time doing commissioner things in the 2 year I spent as commissioner. Granted, my philosophy as commish is "we're all adults, here" so I set the league up assuming that everyone participating was responsible for their trade & roster moves, which had the added bonus of minimum commissioner time commitment in-season.

I'm pretty sure we just projected our desires... I don't recall him saying one way or the other.

Last year there were 2 leagues of 10 teams. I commished the second league. Are we going to have enough interest for me to renew that one too?

Which league were you in? Those in league 1 shouldn't need that--there should be instructions in the email on how to get into this year's league. Or go to the yahoo ff main page and it'll show you as having been invited and just click "accept invitation" or whatever.

I'm still looking for someone to take over as commish. If nobody speaks up, I'll have to delete the league and someone will have to take over, anyway...

So are we going to be keeping the same teams (for the ones that played last year & are playing again this year) in the same leagues as last year, or mix them up so we get different wooters as opponents?

Incidentally, it appears that Yahoo will force you to delete teams or expand the max teams if league 2 maxed out their listed teams. I had it at 12, to make sure the leagues were balanced, IIRC, so I had to expand to 14 to allow random to join.

League 1's ID and password are posted above. I believe everybody but the commissioner (me) can take their team to a new league if they want to. I'll be posting league 2 info as soon as everybody from last year has had a chance to rejoin (I'm talking to you, Tenuki and Tytiger). I want to have 14 teams this year, if there's enough interest. Last year we had 12 teams. The only hard and fast rule is that there needs to be an even number of teams.

I went to autodraft because I got the sense last year that most managers (coaches? owners? what exactly are we?) were more comfortable with that option than the live draft, which is pretty hard to coordinate anyway. The last weekend before the season starts is Labor Day weekend, so a lot of people wouldn't be around.

I'm not planning a live draft at this time, but its open for discussion on the league boards (or here). The draft, auto or live, will occur sometime Labor Day weekend.

As I said before, I would love to play if there is an open spot once you post the details for league two.

As far as the draft, you can really have a live draft and it should please all members. If you are not available for a live draft then your autodraft order will draft for you as if it were an autodraft. Those people that are available can turn off the autodraft and make their own picks. Should be no reason not to do a live draft. Even if only two people can do it, it would not negatively affect those planning on autodrafting.

I know for a fact, I'm away all of Labor Day Weekend, so I of course vote for the autodraft. Not that it really matters, cuz my team will suck whether I'm there for a live draft or not.

I just put up my points about the autodraft and my reasons for not wanting it. I don't recall which league I'm actually in (1 or 2?), but if the other league decides to go for autodraft then I'd like to switch to that one.
The live draft gives a pretty big benefit over those that can't make it and have to use the autodraft. So I'd prefer that everyone be in the same boat to even the playing field, with everyone being on autodraft.
I go away every LDW, so I would never be here for the live draft.

It only makes a difference in the middle round, so as long as you set up your autodraft rankings well, you should be fine. No interwebz where you are going? I usually live draft the first 8 rounds or so, get my core group, then go auto.

I tried to sign up for league 1 and 2, but apparently signed up for whatever league I'm in twice... Commish please remove "Zinsanit" and keep "Zinsanity".

Are there openings in the other league? Do we need two leagues this year?

So who currently is in which leagues? And is everyone that is currently listed in each league actually active? I would think a person would only get their team added to the list if they clicked on the link from the email that the invites to return were sent in.
