Is this worth spending the money on? Not sure if I want to pull the trigger.
I loved this the last time around. The bottles are disappearing quickly. I bought a case to stock up with.

It isn't Woot; it's Connecticut law. Check with your state legislators.
This is great stuff! I think it is hard to go wrong with an Aussie Cab OR Shiraz! Got this when it was offered recently and have loved it. I would LOVE some more of Charles Smith's wines!
In for one, for the price don't see how I can go wrong.
Anyone have any opinions on shipping wine during the summer? I live in central Texas and it's going to be just plain hot for the next few months.
I got this last time and thought the QPR was great. I would love to buy another case, but I've stopped ordering wine for the summer as it's in the mid 80's here in ATL.
My experience with this wine. . . Have drunk one bottle, initially i was not impressed. Put the cap back on and left it out overnight, it is much better the second day. I will have to open a new one to see about the bottle variance you speak of.

from what I've heard, refrigerated truck > air shipping > nothing. I have an order arriving by refrigerated truck today and anoter by 2day air Thursday. Temps are in the mid-80s here so after thursday I'll have experience of both that I can speak of.
I hate Michigan wine laws!
In for two........ We enjoy the chardonnay and thank you everyone for the reviews on this.

In for my first wine.woot!
first woot in over a year I think, all the comments got me in, looks like good QPR
Girlfriend loves this...but no Michigan shipping. Boooooo.
Yes, these would have been gone long ago if shipped to MI
you are welcome! ;)
Wow, there were really 640 of these? That's 14% of the entire production and 3840 bottles of wine. Way to move some product, guys.
This is probably the last order I do to FL until later Sept. Ive seen some Italian white delivered in Aug one bottle blew out the cork and the others broke the foil. With a red I think you will be ok if you read my earlier post down on page 1.
Dangit I missed this! Already tore through the last 6 pack I got. Really impressed at this price level. Looked for this wine on the Calcereous web page and couldn't find it! Anyone know about availability in a non-woot environment?

Yeah, I looked for it too and couldn't find it anywhere.
The TLC is available at the Winery you can call us at 805 239 0289 or email me rick@calcareous.com and order it directly from Calcareous. Thanks for your support! Rick
Moderately disappointed in this wine. Reviews were far more favorable than the product. I have tried a number of different temperatures to try to bring out more flavor, but its just a mediocre wine that leaves almost no impression. Medium body, a whisper of jam, and an overall impression that something is missing. My first crack and the Wine.Woot bat and im bummed!

Come on now at 10 bucks a bottle shipped (if that) what were you expecting? Cheers!
If you just got yours (mine came in today), you may want to let it rest for a week or so. Usually the shipping process and near-constant shaking will sort of "bruise" the wine and make it act a little weird. Or at least that's what the winemakers said when I had a similar complaint for the Ortman Cuvee Eddy. You're right about the jamminess - there is just a little bit of a less-than-pleasant syrupy note to the wine. On the whole, though, the fruitiness forward and the mind-blowing minerality on the back end make it well worth it. Or, you know, I might be full of crap. Hopefully your next bottle will be better, though...
Just got mine and I am going to let it rest a few days before trying it. For the price it can't be worse than what I got at 7-11 the other day right?
I had one of my bottles from the Woot-Off tonight and it tasted as great as they usually do. Perhaps it's just not your cup of tea. You can't really look for a ton of complexity here, and yes, as I said, it's a little syrupy and just a tad hot. You might want to try drinking it a little cooler than reds should usually be drank, though (say, 60 degrees or so). Pay attention to the intense minerality on the finish. That's really the reason I love this wine - not the nose, forward or mid-palate. Perhaps it's just an acquired taste, but I know I'm going to be pretty sad when my twelve other bottles are gone.
ok, so I tried some tonight. Not bad, a little too tannic. I agree it would be better colder, I will try that next. Not bad overall especially for the price.
My husband is really enjoying these wines as a daily drinker. This blend of Cab and Shiraz is a unusual in a good way. Great QPR - when its offered again, we will be in for more. We have had some wine which had a great price point, but, egads, not even the dog would try to steal a slurp if the glass is left unattended. Instant candidate for French Onion Soup ingredient if not even the dog will drink it. These wines, good enough that that my husband is coveting them for himself. So, two thumbs up from the hubby, and two paws up from the dog (Four paws up would mean a very bad recommendation).
Final comment- deffinately better served colder than your normal reds. Also it compliments a spicy roast really well. Thank you woot for a new taste- I like it!
Don't feel bad you missed it. I loved it in the last offering too, so I got a case this time - yuck! It doesn't even taste like the same wine. Maybe the Texas heat got to it, but I ended up tossing the rest of the bottle after the first glass.

Another West Virginian here. I'm wondering if anyone knows for sure why we're off so many recent lists. I had my Buttonwood Farms order canceled and noticed we weren't on Monday's list of states either. Are blue laws back or something??
