For the price I would roll the dice based on Woot street-cred. No Vermont though.

$9.17 a bottle shipped -- found by Wine.Woot -- the weather is getting nice -- time to fire up the 'barbie' -- maybe not shrimp, but the blend sounds good for other grilled favorites --- Looks like a GO

Ooops - almost got 'caught' -- will have to buy at home this evening

I want to try....but trader joe's is just around the corner, as well as the lovely wine store down the street that has tastings every week...

I think I can resist this one.

And I definitely don't just want to see my avatar. (yay pink!)

Got to see my monster-dude.

I'm on the fence, but with so little information, SIWBM continues

Anyone found any other reviews for this wine? Cellar is pretty full, but I could make room for cheap wine if its decent..

Also, if you click on your icon/avatar, you'll be redirected to your members page where you'll have a choice of 4 others to change it to.(once you click the change avatar link there, of course)

Winemaker Damian Grindley is proud of this two-variety cuvee... and justifiably so..

TLC sources its wines from the Limestone Coast area of Southern Australia, where water always is scarce — a factor that stresses the grapevines and concentrates flavors in the fruit. The vineyards benefit from the unusual Terra Rosa soil, a mix of red-brown clay and loam that imparts purity of fruit, intense berry tones and an impressive balance of concentration and finesse.

"The vines get plenty of — you guessed it — 'TLC,' not just from our vineyard workers but also from the gentle, cooling ocean breezes that waft over the low limestone ridges," Grindley explains. "In the cellar, careful attention to tannin management was essential in a light rain year like 2007."

TLC's blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz has silky tannins that make the wine's berry fruit and subtle spiciness truly beguiling. As Grindley puts it: "This is Australia reconnecting with the delicious style of wine it became justifiably famous for."

In for two! woot has only disappointed me once with the Rock Hollow and that was back in January 2008...all is forgiven and forgotten...especially with all of the wine purchased and imbibed since then!

May even have my hubby purchase a set. We love Australian reds and IF for some reason, it's not the best, then it will be served after bottles of the good stuff have been consumed. After folks have had a few glasses (or a bottle) of the good stuff, their taste buds become more open to ANY kind of wine!

This is a tuff one... I need some winery participation to get off the fence!

I love every-day guzzlers but I wouldn't mind waiting for Wellington and go all in there..

However, if these are enjoyable, smooth 9 dollar bottles, I needa go in for 3!

Ahh!

On another note, I find corks to be infinitely more romantic. Although I don't mind a twist-off, it resembles everything I go against. Quicker, cheaper, and more commercial products. Hard to deny the possibility that cost was the initial reason to switch. Ofcourse, I don't doubt that its "better" qualities exist, but rather that they became known AFTER they were put into place.

Ahh who I'm I kidden, I just wanna see my avatar!

Edit: How did they know I'm Mexican? Weird. Lol

On the fence, but I usually like the South Aussie wines. SIWBM may be broken for this one.

I like to cook with wine. In fact, I drank a bottle last night while cooking dinner!

I have to agree with you on all points-love Australian reds, think screw tops are fine and sure can't beat the price. Wine Woot has caused me to try many many wines I would have otherwisw never even known about. In for the max.

Found that it is on Wine Spectators 2009 best values list.

Also, it seems they have other wines but only found a reference to a 2008 Chardonnay.

FYI - How come the Winery Details Section on Woot has not been updated. Still shows stuff on Dana Brown.

Edit: looks like it was imported by Calcareous which upon searching is Owned by Dana Brown.

They recommend pairing it with ribs *yum*
