I have the port and cab filled ones sitting at home right now (Thanks Sparky!) and am probably going to be breaking my SIWBM to get these. Cuz they're not -technically- wine, right?

Come on over and try the port and cab ones if you want They're really good. Really nice burst of liquid. You can't just bite into them to see what it is - you have to pop the whole thing at once. Unless you were thinking of staining your shirt red, of course. But you definitely get a mouthful, and it's tasty!

Bouquet of Fruits appears to be the original seller. So, no fruits were harmed in the production of these truffles.
(Well, except for the grapes. But everyone knows there is no more noble death for a grape than to be stomped and shoved into a wooden barrel with a few thousand of your friends.)

They currently offer these at $14.95 per box.

I'll be right over

One question: SIWBM- does this mean self-imposed wine ban? Just curious.

Besides, fructose isn't bad anyway. Do you avoid fruit? Probably 10 grams of fructose in an apple, 15 in a banana, more in an orange.

You my friend, are a modern jackass. Go look it up on "This American Life."

Also, "please learn" that high fructose corn syrup is about the worse thing to ever happen to our country, along with all the other corn derivatives. There are so many reasons, besides the the health effects, that one would be well served to avoid such heavily processed food. So, please, next time don't just assume you know everything about something simply because you know one or two facts, rarely is the story so shallow.

the "decapitating" method is what winefarm uses. I prefer the the "whole kit and kaboodle" method.

These get better and better every time you have them.

And this time, I'm not going to "save them for a special occasion" only to find the liquid all evaporated from them...

Note to all: 4 months is too long to "hold on" to these. Eat them.

How can anyone refuse? These are delicious!

I bought a few the last time they were offered. Gifted most of them and sadly I only had one box for myself! :-(

This time I'm just going to open them up one at a time and leave them out for co-workers to snack on and hopefully NOT inebriate themselves with.

Oh, and like many, I prefer the all-at-once method of ingesting these beautiful treats. Less chance for accidents and the need for explanations.

Wow! -- they would charge $39.28 to ship four boxes to arrive on a Thursday or Friday (any other day is even more -- Saturday's cost $134 for SHIPPING).

Edit: OK, since Gourmet Shopping Network appears to be the Bouquet of Fruits home site, I have gone ahead and created a comparison sheet for this offer.

How good is this deal?

Lot's of notes on this one, including the fact that GSN appears to be running a sale on this offer right now (they do have a 4-pack offer). Compared to normal price there is no real comparison. Compared to the sale price wine.woot still kicks butt after you include shipping.

Absolutely not. Not sure what the expiration date is, but the liquid inside kind of evaporates after a while. I had a couple boxes from my first order of this (12/5/07) that I had pulled out my final two boxes for the first Detroit tasting (May 2008). They were empty and tasted vaguely like cardboard. But when they were fresh and filled, they were DELICIOUS.

Yes we can, and for the sake of getting along and education, I'd like to add one more thing about high fructose corn syrup that most people don't know. "High-fructose corn syrup is a common sweetener and preservative. High-fructose corn syrup is made by changing the sugar (glucose) in cornstarch to fructose — another form of sugar. The end product is a combination of fructose and glucose." (www.mayo clinic.com) Any time you manipulate or change glucose (sugar) into another component, it compromises the health qualities it started out with. It's not like they are adding vitamins to glucose to turn it into fructose. Therefore, when you eat a banana or an apple, you are not eating any hfcs (high fructose corn syrup) at all. You are eating true and natural sugars directly from the fruit and is not compromised by any processing at all. Sugar in it's raw sense is much easier on our bodies in general.

All that- along with the fact that the recent studies that have been finding mercury in a lot of hfcs.

That's all. Now on to bigger and more important things... Now that I know there isn't any hfcs in these chocolates filed with yummie wine, DO I GET ONE OR TWO?!

You won't wake up. You're not dreaming. This is all real.

I also had a couple boxes from my december 07 order. For me they were fine a year later save for the lack of bubbles in the champagne ones. The port ones were fantastic. I kept mine in the fridge though which probably made the difference.

You can purchase if you are under 21. See WineDavid's very early post. If our fearless leader says it's so, it is almost probably true.

While I know they cannot last until next year, how about till the end of the month? I want to share them with my family, but because of exam schedules I wont be going home until then. Also how do you store them once a box is open?

As it says in the info page, wine can't be shipped to Pennsylvania by law, but can these be? It would appear so by the coloring on the map, but has anyone ordered these from a state that is normally forbidden? Thanks!

Nevermind, saw the note.

I bought these around Christmas for $39.99 + shipping. They are pretty good. They are literally chocolates with wine in them. NOT A WINE FILLINNG. I liked all but one kind. I can't remember which box it was, but they are worth the money. I've over wooted the last couple weeks. So I will hold off until next time.

They should be just fine until the end of the month. It's storing for several months that doesn't work too well. In the past, I recall recommendations to store in the fridge. But don't lose track of them in there!
