For those working on educating their palate, the Petite Sirah is supposed to have aromas and flavors of ollalieberries. You could compare with the Chaucer Olallieberry dessert wines.

BTW, good luck tonight.
We haven't pondered this, maybe shh is mill? maybe shh is the social mill account and mill is left postless to add to the myth of mill, the most famous wine wooter of all.

mill, the red nosed wooter
had a very well stocked cellar.
and if you ever saw him post,
you would even say "hi fellar."
All of the other wooters
used to ask and guess his identity.
They never let poor mill
bask in any wooter anonymity.
Then one foggy Monday Eve
WineDavid PMed him to say:
"mill with your ordering so right,
won't you buy my wine and post tonight?"
Then all the wooters loved him
as they shouted out with glee,
mill the red-nosed wooter,
you'll go down in history!
I was saving this for mills return to glory, in light of your song it is only appropriate I respond in kind.
The ballad of mill
Come listen to a story bout a wooter named mill,
POOR oenephile, barely kept his cellar full,
Then one day he was googling the internets
And up from the tubes came the wine.woot
Cabernet to Chardonnay, California Varietea
As much as he woots, mill must be a millionaire,
Kinfolk said mill stay away from there,
Stay up til midnight sunday and buy in sets of three,
Can't you see you're headed down the path of drunken poverty.
Life savings that is,
Destitute, using credit cards.

Looks good. I've had Bogle and Concannon PS and liked them, so its about time to try a different one. And I've always wanted to try a CF. I think i'll be in on this before the week is out.

Even though I already have a cabinet full of wine and I'm averaging like one bottle a week at most.....
Just wait until the winemaker and labrats start chiming in. Now personally, I was in at 12:01am so I can't even pretend to have resisted.

Since I missed the labrat cutoff this morning, I will await the labrat reports. I'm an easy sell, though, since I love Cab franc and Petite sirah, though I've never had any from Santa Barbara before.
Often CF has a greener, more vegetal aroma and taste when compared to other reds. Then again, I've had a cab franc with very little of those characteristics (the one that comes to mind was made from WA grapes). I wonder if the winemaker can address this aspect of this particular bottling, and describe what category this cab franc most resemble: a fruity cab sauv, or a something more striking with an olive-green pepper bouquet.

Thanks for "good luck" -- I am planning to open a bottle of Poizin for tonight, for celebration. If it turns out to be mourning, it should be strong enough to take care of that, too.
It will be mourning my friend ... LSU by two TD's, at least
