Could it be Red Truck Wine???

The wine seems to be very closed-in and seems to have entered a dumb stage. Sort of a Marcel Meursault.

Isn't Tupelo Elvis' birthplace? Is it a return of the Elvis wines?

If so, they haven't been that great, even as a novelty...

But that doesn't touch the "gas station" or "in a big way" part of the clue. Shrug.

I'm surprised they didn't put that info in the blog as they usually do, but at least this time, it was presented when you clicked on "I Want One" and go through the ordering process. Here's the message (this from email confirmation, but same difference)

- Wine sold by winery (or a retailer in your state where necessary)
- You must be 21 or older to order
- Whoever receives the package must be 21 or older
- If you’re drunk when the package shows up, you will not be allowed to receive it
- Wine cannot be delivered to a P.O. Box
- We highly reccommend you use a business address as your shipping address

FREE SEX WITH GAS!
A gas station in Tupelo Mississippi was trying to increase its sales, so the owner put up a sign saying, "Win Free Sex with Fill-Up." Soon a local redneck pulled in, filled his tank, and then asked for his free sex. The owner told him to pick a number from 1 to 10. If he guessed correctly, he would get his free sex. The redneck then guessed 8, and the proprietor said, "You were close. The number was 7. Sorry, no sex this time."

A week later, the same redneck, along with a buddy, Bubba, pulled in for a fill-up. Again he asked for his free sex. The proprietor again gave him the same story, and asked him to guess the correct number. The redneck guessed 2 this time. Again the proprietor said, "Sorry, it was 3. You were close, but no free sex this time."

As they were driving away, the redneck said to his buddy, "I think that game is rigged and he doesn't really give away free sex."Bubba replied, "No it ain't, Billy Ray. It ain't rigged my wife won twice last week."

I think it's just the standard language that's there for when the site is actually selling wine. My understanding is that there are/were no restrictions for the sale of the chocolates nor will there be any at delivery.

On March 23, Woot had a Wine O' Elvis Random 4 pack. Do you suppose it will be a 6-pac or case offering?

Normal restrictions aren't in place this week (at least not for the non-wine items)(covered on Page 1)

People stop at gas stations with their kids on trips to Disneyland/world for 'pit stops.'
Whatever it is is small and wants to be larger.

Im personally betting on the woot being wine tomorrow. That was they have a 2 day buffer before the next wine offering on sunday. Mind game - eek!

Whatever it is, hope it keeps the trend of a better woot being offered each day than the last as this week has been going IMHO.

Wow. I was only kidding... (that bottle of cab was clearly corked!)

I think I need to buy another decanter now to make up for sarcastically guessing correctly.

is there any word on when these are going out?? I'm going out of town on the 20th and right now the UPS tracking number says that the packages haven't even been brought there. A little help woot???

MrSpike

quality posts: 0 Private Messages MrSpike

I have my tracking number but it's still just "billing recieved" status. As a UPS employee I have access to other tracking tools and confirmed that it has not even shipped yet though it was received/billed on the 7th. Had that actually been the case I would have mine by now but so far nothing.

Kinda annoying... whats the holdup?

same problem here.
my friend who would be receiving the package will be out of town starting next week.. I wonder how this will work out...

I know there are no guarantees with shipping, but one would expect that the 'gift week' items would be out in time for gifting on the holidays. Any update on where we stand with these would be fantastic. 'Billing received' is all I have to work from.

Thanks,

JS

Right, have these actually shipped out yet? I also show billing received on my UPS status although I received my email from woot stating it had shipped with a tracking number on saturday night. I am moving out on tuesday the 18th so it is a somewhat urgent matter

If it says "billing received" but there are no further scans then typically that says a customer electronically uploaded their shipments (done by running end of day on their worldship boxes) but never actually turned over the packages to UPS. There should be an immidiate origin scan from whatever center/hub picked these packages up.

Woot, why are you holding onto our boxes?

Where's the origin? Typically the 'recheduled date' is the delivery date, but I've seen them goof that up before.
