Joel and I are going to be road tripping this June and we are spending a couple of nights in AC. Me to satisfy the gambler. For Joel, a bit of a journey to Leonardo NJ and Kevin Smith World.
I've never been to AC and would like any advice, hints, must-dos. I am especially interested in hotel advice. I've been hitting various sites, casinos, and travel sites and nothing jumps out at me.
Any thoughts fellow wooters?

Tell me a little about yourself, what you like to do, and what you like to play. I've been to AC many times (I live only a little over an hour away), and have enjoyed a few different casinos for various reasons.

Justin,
Thanks so much. As it turns out, a shot in the dark got me 2 free nights at Caesar's. I was shopping around on Expedia and remembered my Harrah's Total Rewards card. I hadn't any action on it for awhile, but I was hoping for a good rate at Bally's since it appears to be in the middle of the boardwalk. I was pleased when several options came up for comped rooms. We've never stayed at Caesar's in Vegas so I opted for that.
I am a video poker fan. My husband and I also like some of the new multi line video slots as a way to just sit and be silly.
I have heard that the atmosphere in AC is quite different than the atmosphere in Vegas. The phrase "serious about their gambling" comes up a lot. Any thoughts?
Also, I am a fan of some tacky stuff... I am so looking forward to the Boardwalk and such. And we are planning a visit to the Leonardo/Red Bank area as my husband is a Kevin Smith fan.
We have 2 nights. Getting into AC on Monday and leaving on Wednesday morning.
Thanks for your help.

trebork wrote:Hi Laura I'm a atlantic city local. I have also been to Las Vegas several times. They are very different places. I would agree that in the past Atlantic City has been all about the gaming. However in the last 3 to 5 five years the dining, shopping and nightlife has tremendously improved, plus AC has one thing Las Vegas will never have - the Atlantic Ocean. May and June are a great time of year to visit. I would suggest checking out www.cityatlantic.com before you arrive to help plan you trip. They also have a monthly glossy magazine you will find in your room or at the concierge desk.
Enjoy your trip!
Thanks....I am looking forward to the boardwalk and the ocean as much as I am the video poker (ok, more actually). Plus it falls right after the family portion of our trip so we can actually be alone. Beach and gambling. Not quite the Atlantis but... not bad either!

Sorry that I didn't get back to you sooner - I got busy preparing for a move to a new apartment sooner than I thought.
Free rooms are always a good thing
I haven't ever stayed at Caesar's, what are the rooms like?

I'll let ya know Justin. It seems from just nosing around at the AC hotels that the room schemes are kind of ... garish. We'll see tho.
