I can't tell you how many face-palm moments I have whenever I hear 'The OC'. It's not The Orange County. It's just Orange County. It wouldn't be so bad if that damnable show didn't popularize it.

Also, how do you feel about 'sneaked' vs 'snuck'? I'm an ol'e fashioned sneaked girl myself. To my ears, 'snuck' is about as nails on the chalkboard as 'ain't'.

At least "ain't" is the historically correct contraction.

Feel free to scroll down to Origin and Usage Note. I could probably dig up more if you want, but there's nothing I could find that you couldn't.

I was a delivery driver for years. On the invoice of one customer always read (city libary). It was that way for years. Never corrected.

So was it a berry that lied to the city? Or a city berry that lied? Or the lie the city always told to the berry?

I had a training meeting yesterday and a coworker kept saying simular (instead of similar). ACK!
Then I came home and told my daughter about it, and she said her CNA teacher always says something wrong, but she couldn't remember what it was. Then suddenly she texts me this afternoon "cooshins"(cushions). LOL
I have another coworker that wrote sale instead of sell on a spreadsheet, I made her read it out loud (where she pronounced it sell). Then I told her she was wrong that word was sale, and she should have written sell and spelled it for her. This was a spread sheet that I have spent a lot of time on, so for her to do that made me cringe.

I have a very nasty habit of pronouncing New Hampshire as New Ham-shy-er. It's something I picked up as a kid and never bothered to drop, originally because I couldn't wrap my lips around the Hamp-sher pronunciation, though now it's just to bug Ngo XD Whenever he points out my mispronunciation, I point out his in Louisville.

You realize, by telling no1 he doesn't have to look, he's probably going to look.

It's worth mentioning twice though.

One that Ngo will often do is mix up 'me' and 'I' when there are two or more people involved in a sentence >.< What's worse is that he gets stubborn over it from time to time.

"Do you want to go with (LF1) and I?"
