We just did the first round of shoveling. About 6-7 inches, and it is supposed to be heaviest from 10 to 5. And everything was covered as I went to the beginning of the walk. They are recommending doing several rounds of shoveling, but with the drifting, I think it is not that helpful. Still, we will do it again after another 5-6 inches. And hopefully, the last round is only another 6 inches or so. Otherwise, we will need rounds 3 and 4.

In other words, the storm is real here.

And an hour later, we have 3 inches on the front step, last spot I shoveled.

And snow was blowing into the house when I opened the door.

A couple weeks ago, we had predictions of up to 20" of snow. It was supposed to occur on a Friday. My son was supposed to have JROTC Military Ball that Friday. Even as the predictions started to fall, the event was postponed the day before it was to occur, because apparently in MN we aren't used to getting significant amounts of snow. That Friday comes, and, well, the forecast was wrong. We got NO snow. None. Not a flake. FAIL!

I'm surprised, given your general preference for SI, that you'd adhere to the middle Endian date conventions of the U.S.A. Shouldn't pi day be on the 31st of April (31-4)? Or the 3rd of the 14th month? Seems that captures its essential irrationality better

Little, or big?
I could (should) have at least observed UT (GMT) conventions.

Little and big Endian are both totally valid date conventions. Take your pick if you want Pi day this year to be on 2017-03-14 or 14-03-2017.

This is crazy. I ordered 2 of the Wellington anti mystery cases. They were shipped at the same time. One arrived today, the other is still in Georgia with an estimated delivery of Monday! And they both left on the 8th. That is a long time to get to me.

I had a similar experience. 2 cases of Wellington, one arrived in Ohio and the other was still in Utah but showed up 2 days later.

I am still using it. It is a nice pedometer and I think it is fairly accurate. It has helped me to become more aware of my steps and has encouraged me to do more. ddeuddeg has compared his steps on his Striiv pedometer to his phone or to my pedometer, when we're together and walking and they are really close. Their customer service has been quite helpful when I've had problems. However, I am disappointed that they have discontinued their online support and couldn't be bothered to let their current customers know. At least they are being upfront about it here on Sellout.

I really liked seeing how far I had climbed up Mt. Everest (stairs) or how many marathons I had completed walking over time! I also liked the donations of water that they were making based on my movement.

For $14.99 this is a nice little device.

I am thinking of switching out to some kind of wrist model though, but I'm going to have to work on that. (I don't feel that I need a device to tell me how well I slept! I also don't want a device to track every time I move my arm to write on the board!) I don't particularly like the constant bulge of the Striiv at my waist. It looks really strange under sweaters!

Filmmaker/winemaker Francis Ford Coppola says his two professions are almost the same and that each depends on source material and takes a lot of time to perfect.
The big difference: "Today's winemakers still worry about quality."
