Great to see so much interest! And we'd love to have you MarkDaSpark. Too bad we can't transport your wine locker with you.
If you want to get email updates, remember to PM me your email address.
The way these things usually work is that we decide on a wine theme, and everyone brings a bottle based on that theme which we can all taste. Hopefully, we'll get lucky, and wine.woot will send us a few bottles to taste as well.

Bumping this up to see if there is any more interest. Going to start firming things up when I get back from my Thanksgiving/bday vacation.
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

Put me down for a definite maybe +1. I think we can probably swing that. I can have a solid answer in a couple weeks as soon as I talk to him and get travel figured out! Would love to meet new people and maybe see some old friends *cough* Dallas crew *cough*

I'm in! +1
But I mentioned this to Ben the other day, and he knew nothing of it. :-o
Maybe we should get a rough head-count and let TFB know. It is not a giant place.
Please do not increment my Quality Posts count. 69 is a good place to be. ;-)

If TFB can't fit us, we'll move to an alternate location or my house if worse comes to worse.
I'll edit the top post with a tentative headcount tomorrow.

Please check the top post. I've divided the group into maybes and definites based on your responses and if you are coming from out of town.
Post here if you need to swap lists, be added, or taken off.
I want to get an estimate so I can start firming things up.

Ok, the Blinks and ThunderThighs have been moved to the definite side. Hopefully we'll hear from more people soon.

Even if ALL of the confirmed and maybes showed up it's just over 20. That should be no problem! We just need to let them know that we are coming, and to have plenty of clean wine glasses. ;-)
Now, what wines are we bringing?

Mt friend and I are confirmed so you can move us up to the definite list.
Let us know what theme so we can pick wines to bring.

Since this is our first gathering, I say we keep the theme pretty wide open. We can get more specific on future meetups.
I'm going to propose these rules:
- Bring something from your collection you really like, or you've really been wanting to try. It doesn't have to be from Woot.
- One bottle per person
- Price $12-$25 range (with reasonable flexibility)
Do these rules sound ok?

Note the size of the indoor dining room. The "garden" is equally as large.

I'm thinking 6pm when it opens, so probably 6pm-8pm. That way it will also be easier to see who is part of our group. I'm out of town, but I have my +1 on the case of getting this setup with them.

We've got a reservation in for 6pm for our group at TFB on the 19th. Details to be worked out after Christmas.
Mark your calendars and let me know of any more changes to the Definites/Not definite list on the first message.

Based on experience at previous Woot dinners, 2 hours will fly by. Count on 3 hours.

The Blinks are correct. I must have mistyped! Thanks for spotting it, it is now corrected.
The dinner is at 6PM.

TFB is very close to UT campus, so you could stay at the AT&T Conference Center:

The Doubletree Suites on 15th is not the far either.
Personally, I'd try Priceline to see if you can get a good deal in the downtown area.
There is also a Doubletree that is probably cheaper than the Suites one on the East side of 35 near 15h.
