I too have seen these, and that's the only reason I have a subscription. Try to renew before expired and you get cancelled and a refund. At least that's my experience.

But how is it different from the other myriad special bottlings they do?

The dosage, that's about it. I don't think most of their special bottlings are worth more $ on their own but by virtue of their limited production they command an increased tariff.

This was definitely unique compared to their other sparklings, though. If I had to compare, it would be most like the Ocean Reserve even though it's not a Blanc de Blancs. Lighter, crisper and less doughy than most of their sparklers despite 4+ years en tirage. Imagine the OR with just a hint of Pinot added.

Not my favorite IH but still very good and seems to have some aging potential. At almost half off retail, it's worth a flier for a bottle or three IMO. Also fun to open for the big game due to the football themed label. Would be cool to display the bottle on a kicking tee....

nope, I haven't gotten the reward, but in all fairness, I really don't buy much from them.... unless it is the marathon... but then the last bottle reward isn't in play.

I will read through in the week I get it and throw it away. If there is something worth keeping I tear it out. I try and keep the clutter down.

2013 Robert Mondavi Winery "Maestro" (50th Anniversary wine) at winespies for $41 free ship w/6. Can be had for as little as $35 + shipping via wine-searcher.

I grabbed a 6-pack hoping that these will jump in value similar to the 40th anniversary Caymus Cab. The "Maestro" is already valued at $55 in CT based on quarterly auction results.
