Westside so not overrated. Marine layer keeps us from completely boiling up.

Oh yeah...finished my leftovers from Saturday's WB gathering. 2003 Corison and 2001 Sawyer Cab, both Napa Valley designated. YUM. Those guys would rather the high octane Paso wines...which are tasty indeed. More of this for me!

When your team is playing for Lord Stanley's cup (if in my lifetime) I will hope for 7 games

If the Kings sweep I will watch the repeat of the entire playoffs on NHL network with no stress..

Fair point.
I don't need 7 games, but those series do end up being rather epic. Too bad there are no weekend games this time around regardless. That'd be nice with a glass or 3 of wine.

If the rangers win Wednesday (god forbid) we will get a Friday night game that's a pretty good way to start a weekend. Just bail early on work.

Earthquake Zin. Yes, it's a mass-marketed wine that's the same every vintage. If I can get it for just over $20/bottle, I'm a happy guy. A couple of people can spend an evening draining a bottle, and it just keeps getting better and better. If you haven't tried it, do.

Slow drinkers here. Just finished it off with some sushi this evening. Clean and crisp, but would have liked just a tad more dosage, again for the girls sake.

Does dosage make the wine sweeter or just add to the carbonation or both?

Reading the wiki it looks like neither...
I had assumed sweetness was primary; wrong. Seems not carbonation either.

Nothing about carbonation, but can influence sweetness and flavour. All depends on what the winemaker wants to do. Although any sweetness in bubbly almost always comes from the dosage.

Happy hour at work last night with visiting clients:
2011 Liquid Farm White Hill
2009 Wellington Roussanne
2010 Patricia Green Estate Pinot
2012 Bedrock Papera Ranch Zin
2006 Von Strasser Diamond Mountain Cab
2006 Buttonwood Cab Franc
2011 Ridge Lytton Springs
2010 Giornata Aglianico Luna Mata Vineyard

Didn't get to:
2010 Ken Brown Pinot Noir Rancho La Vina
2006 Stolpman Santa Ynez Syrah

People loved both the White Hill and Wellington. The Bedrock didn't go over as well - too young. People loved the Aglianico.

From my understanding, Bedrock wines act like woot cellars wines. They need to sleep for at least a year after release. A lot of people have said start at vintage +4 years.

Butter bomb! I wasn't expecting that but it's aged nicely and actually quite enjoyable. There's enough minerality and acid to cut through the butter on the medium+ finish.
