That's funny. Grabbed the same bottle last night as well. Agree it is drinking quite well. Only a few bottles left.

Just not into this wine. I wonder if my bottles were really mildly damaged as most of the CT notes are really positive.

But it did do better after we came back to it.
PnP isn't easy, and can be brutal on an otherwise very good bottle.

Opened the Jemrose 2009 Foggy Knoll Grenache tonight. Tart berries (strawberry and raspberry) with some spice. At almost 5 y/o, not sure that this will change much with more time in the bottle. Went well with bistek al queso and enchiladas suizas though.

I really like Jemrose wines but I never thought the wines were something I would lay down, they are really good to drink now.

Of the six I got, this is the first I've consumed; the other was gifted.
Consumed in a very informal manner, poolside, family I didn't know I had, PnP into plastic cups, carne asada and trimmings, with no reference how it may have been earlier, I quite enjoyed it and it paired well.

Not sure how the Stelvan affects the OTR and aging compared to cork and when the "dumb" phase for PS may kick in, but with some nice bottle age, still had plenty of darker fruit, for me (I don't much care for big fruit ), nice complexity, good balance, smooth tannins. A very nice bottle.

At this point neither of the two of us that accounted for the bulk of it's consumption felt it was anywhere near it's EOL. I'll not be rushing to finish the four still in the cellar.
