I got the Vinturi without the tower - I like the device as a "hurry-up" aerator - I think that letting a very good red breathe is much preferable, but for everyday stuff, this thing works a treat.
The tower would have been handy as holding the aerator and pouring can require some effort- after a few glasses...

Didn't realize that it was one or the other for the price---
to paraphrase Life of Brian
"27.99 for that, you must be mad..."

The tower that is...
I don't remember what I spent on the Vinturi.
Probably too much.

I would much rather have one of the hand blown decanters that use to show up on here... but might get one of these for now.

why is this only marketed for red? and what's the difference with the white one for white wine? Can't any color be used to any wine?

I have the Rabbit vinturi aerator that plugs into the top of the wine bottle, and it works well, but there's nothing like decanting the wine.

Amazon has the Aerator alone for $25.50 with free shipping
Or the 6 piece set (which includes aerator and tower) for $45.88

Woots not beating the competition (err father in law) any more it seems.

Yes but red wine can stain and discolor the white one supposedly. No reason you cant use whites on the red wine that i know of.

I've had the Vinturi Red Wine Aerator for about a year now. I love it. Ironically, I just purchased the tower and aerator at Amazon.com a couple of days ago for my Dad (Father's Day gift). It was a little under $46 with free shipping, so I'm not sure how good of a deal this is if you plan on getting both.

I got the Aerator for my birthday or something last year. Bought the tower because as someone else said, it's a pain in the butt to hold that aerator over the glass...after a few glasses.

I keep hoping the Soiree reappears. Got one here almost a year ago (7/11/10) and my wife broke it last month. At $18 (at the time), and way more effective, it puts this deal to shame.

I'm thinking Cosentino

Actually it probably won't been so many of them on here, that they'll need to clear out some other brands.

I wonder what the grand finalle will be ?

Soirres are great and they are only $25 through winesoiree.com with free shipping so about the same as a woot $18 + shipping

My favorite thing about this Woot-Off has been the increasingly disgruntled comments, but you guys are really letting me down right now. Where's the outrage about another flipping Aerator?

I actually really like my Venturi. The only bad comment that I would have is that I already own this product so lets hurry this up already But really I would encourage you to buy this if you are looking for a good aerator.

I will admit to not having one -- but are they really mainly for reds? If I drink primarily whites, would it be a waste of money? (If you say "no" just to get it off the board, there's a slight chance I will see right through you.)

They make one specifically for whites and this is for reds.

I think the difference between the two is color only. I have used my red for both and it works fine.

BTW, what's the deal with a wootoff price that is the same as every day pricing? Woot off's used to be about the deal....

I stopped visiting/buying (for the most part) from Cinderella almost va year ago after Gary v started ppulling off shenanigans...I hope Woot stops this nonsense amd listen to its "fan base." These past two days have really been "awful" Lot 18, on the other hand, has a very tempting Syrah offer and has been looking pretty good lately...just sayin'...

Awesome product, I use this for all of my homebrew wines and if I happen to break a cork, it has a nice strainer on it that will catch any debris.

I'm out. I only got two, and gave my mother one. Big mistake. I do a cranberry balsamic glaze on pork loin that is one of my favorites. I haven't found anything affordable locally that can match that balsamic. I've been waiting, for what seems forever now...

I just broke my decanter, was not very happy with myself! Luckily my Vinturi will hold me over until I can find a replacement.

Amazon sells just the aerator for 25.50, and it is well received from all the reviews. Personally, I have never used the Vinturi, but aerators in general (with a little swirling) are pretty much essentials

since this package include the tower AND the aerator, it is a pretty good deal it seems, amazon doesn't sell both together directly, but gift packages on the website list it at right under 60 dollars.

I don't need an aerator, but this is basically a "buy the aerator, get a stand" deal, which, having seen the Vinturi in action, seems like a good buy

I have a similar wine aerator but I want to see the Gemini Rojaus aerator on here. Seen them around for 180ish and used one at New Years great aerator decanter for parties.

What I don't like about this is once you've placed your order, no where in any web receipt, confirmation email, or anything does it say which one woot thinks you ordered.

Every bit of documentation says "1 Vinturi Red Wine Aerator or Vinturi Red Wine Tower" with no indication of what.

That means the only way to have a record of your order is to have taken a snapshot of the page while you were ordering. Else hope you clicked the right button (when they were about to sell out) and hope that they read it right if you did).

Got the tower -- and used it -- today! So much easier than trying to hold the darn thing straight vertical over a glass.

Still wonder why the tower says it's for red wine only. I can understand (if not actually ascertain) why the Vinturi device itself would be for different wines, but the tower is just a holder and the white wine model fits just as well as the red.

I'll be using the tower for both, thank you.
