Unfortunately, I still have some salami from the last time W.W offered it... I fear it may no longer be edible.

We had Vella dried Jack cheese when we were in Sonoma a few years back. That is some good cheese. Nothing like the "undried" Jack at all. We're in for one just for that reason. The salami is a bonus!

I still have one and a half of the Creminelli salamis from back in May in the fridge. I think SWMBO would kill me if I bought more.

What's the best way to store these things? Would the cheese be fine in room temp if kept in their vacuum sealed package? Should I freeze after opening?

Vella cheese is the best, bar none. I'm Sonoma County born and bred, and I had a job when I was 19 driving for a gourmet food distributor. Mr. Vella gave me big ol' half wheels of dry jack on occasion. Oh man, is it tasty. If you don't know Vella, you don't know jack.

Does anyone know how long the salame can be hung and further aged? Days? Weeks? . . .Months? Or, is it an eat it now thingy?

Molinari & Sons make some amazing Salami, I usually get one from my Italian grandparents for Christmas and my b-day, one of the best gifts.

So, does each of the two salames weight 13oz, or are they 6.5oz each, totally 13oz?

While we're on the subject of tasty Cheeses.. They had a blurb in the local paper the other day - Hook's 15 year cheddar is going on sale the 19th of Nov. Supposedly if you don't get any then, it won't be up until next December. If you miss both of those, there won't be any for 2 more years. I'll leave it up to you to figure out how you're going to get some. I'll be trying to grab mine at the farmers market on the 20th.

Molinari salamis are fantastic. If you enjoy salami and haven't tried a high quality salami before do yourself a favor and try it, its an eye opening, or should I say palate opening experience. Our restaurant used them until a recent seasonal menu change and I dearly miss snacking on them regularly. Their Toscano is heavenly if you ever have a chance to try it. Some day I'll get up to Seattle and eat at Salumi to try their salamis as I hear they are incredible as well.

My first Wine.Woot! I've been buying a whole lot of Chimay cheese from Belgium, but it's hella spendy. I've recently started trying different cheeses, and why not start with such a great deal.

Thanks Woot!

Is this salame similar in taste/density/texture to sopressata? I'm not talking about the garbage most grocery stores (Whole Foods included) like to call sopressata, but traditional rustic sopressata.

I like to talk about wine, but I'd rather drink it.

You might have to hide the salami then.

I didn't say that - bad Ghostie, bad!

A traditional sopressata does not contain non-fat dry milk, as is depicted in the photo-link you present... instead, here is a traditional Sopressata Recipe ...

I'm thinking it's two 13 ouncers based on woot's write up:

"In fact, let’s just direct our attention away from the cheeses and their slicing and to the two 13 oz. Molinari & Sons Italian Dry Salame. Wait a minute, where’d it go? Alright, enough with the games. Who’s playing hide the salami?"

Hidin' two 13-ouncers in a box meant for me, sounds just swell, yes indeed...

On the main page just above the "I want one" button, it lists:

1 Mezzo Secco Cheese - 8 oz.
1 Dry Monterey Jack Cheese - 8 oz.
2 Molinari & Sons Italian Dry Salame - 13 oz.

And that list matches the last photo and that's the same list shown on the shipping/billing page. But when I'm at the "review your order" page it only lists:

1 Mezzo Secco Cheese - 8 oz.
1 Dry Monterey Jack Cheese - 8 oz.
1 Molinari & Sons Italian Dry Salame - 13 oz.

So which is it wine.woot staff?

EDIT: I completed my order and the receipt says:

You ordered 1 Mezzo Secco Cheese - 8 oz..
You ordered 1 Dry Monterey Jack Cheese - 8 oz..
You ordered 2 Molinari & Sons Italian Dry Salame - 13 oz

So there's the definitive answer.
