Not sure how many FedEx days you are located from their warehouse in NJ, but be careful during the summer. They put zero effort into summer shipping - very un-wootish in that respect. To CA it will almost invariably spend a weekend in transit, so I won't order from them until the fall (or set a fall shipping date).

I'm in Manhattan, a two hour drive from their warehouse. I ordered wine on Saturday, it shipped Monday, arrived Wednesday by FedEx ground.

Yes, when it was offered here on woot. I went deep and got 2 combo packs and 2 syrah this morning. $10 to ship a case is great to FL. Does this ship from Gilbert or RLL? Hopefully the gel packs will last from WA to FL.

I've given up on ordering from Gargiste despite this amazing $25k deal

I'm not sure what logic they use to decide which wines to ship and which ones not, but I've had about 9 bottle sitting there for almost two years now while they keep shipping wine that came in after.

I did notice they sent out an email about how they're finally updating their OARS system, so we'll see if things get better.

If I lived in Seattle, I would definitely use them since you can just run by the warehouse and pick the stuff up. Seems like a much better setup than those of us who have to wait for shipping.

I have to agree with you about the shipping. I received a case last year and one this year. They still have 3 bottles of mine sitting there. What is your impression of the wines they offer? While I have tried only a handful of the ones I've ordered, I have not been impressed. I try to research my purchases before I commit, so it is not for a lack of knowledge. I guess I was expecting more of a wow factor, especially since that is how he writes up each offering.

Lot18 has a half-case of 2006 White Oak Vineyards for sale at $116.94 (average price $19.49).

Woot had a FULL case of White Oak Cabernet and Merlot for sale back in March (6 of the 2006 cabernet, 6 of the 2006 merlot) for $99.99 (average price $8.33).

WTG Woot!

Here is some of what Lot18 says about the cabernet -

"You wouldn't know from looking at it, but behind this label is the source of fruit for some of the Napa Valley's most prestigious wineries. White Oak Vineyards actually does most of its business selling grapes to some of the biggest names in Napa and Sonoma. While the specific winery names have to remain confidential, they're all serious producers.

The very best fruit, however, is kept at home and goes into the White Oak estate wines. Only the top 10 percent of the crop makes the cut, and with more than 750 acres under vine, there are plenty of great lots to choose from. The fruit was hand-harvested, and the wine was aged in 50 percent new oak barrels for 20 months – similar to those much more expensive labels.

Founder Bill Myers had been a contractor and a salmon fisherman in Alaska before he settled in Healdsburg, Sonoma County, in the 1970s. It was then that he purchased his first vineyard in the Alexander Valley and began producing Chardonnay, Zinfandel and Sauvignon Blanc. It wasn't until the mid-1990s that the property expanded to include land in Napa Valley. It is getting harder and harder to find great Napa Cabernet at reasonable prices, so my suggestion is to stock up on this find."

WineShopper is running some special deals today due to their anniversary or some such.

They just put up the BuenaVista 2007 Ramal Vineyard Syrah for 13.99. I'd go in for some if they'd ship 'em to Texas.

They've also got the Ramal Chardonnay for 13.99 *edit* see cesare's post below about the coming offers *edit*

Looks like more special offers will be up later today.

They've also got the Ramal Chardonnay for 13.99, so I imagine the Pinot can't be that far behind maybe even at 13.99 which would be the cheapest it's been.

Looks like more special offers will be up later today.

And the regular merlot which is totally worth 9.99. I'm going in for a mixed 8 bottles to get the $99 free shipping. No pinot coming though. Or any other Buena Vista it seems. From the email:
9:00 am PT: Single-vineyard Syrah for over 60% off! An incredible Carneros wine for just $13.99.
11:00 am PT: One of our best-selling Spanish wines EVER - 92 points, 65% off.
1:00 pm PT: 2 magnums of one of California's most famous Zinfandels for only $20!
3:00 pm PT: Estate Cabernet, 91 points, 56% off and under $20!

Pretty great deals. I ended up doing the mixed 8 pack as well. With 5 of the Syrahs/Chards and 3 of the Merlots it comes in just a touch over the $99 required for free shipping.

Also looks like the Ramal Syrah is going to be pulled at 11am PST for the next offer.

Speaking of wine.com, there is an odd voucher up for them today on PlumDistrict. It looks like it is only supposed to apply to their father's day gift packs, but I'm not sure it is really limited to just those.

$20 gets you $40 to spend on them:

I bought two bottles of this on 05/14 from wine.com for $19.99 each. So, it looks like the price is unchanged, although they might lead you to think otherwise. Since I just received it, I have not opened it. Sorry no rattage. And, yes, CT on it looks very good, which was why I bought it in the first place. If you have the shipping deal, then $20/bottle (with good CT scores) is not much of a risk or a cost.

EDIT: you can still buy it for $20 on wine.com.

Is this true?

On the upside: Thanks to the convoluted state regulations on liquor sales, you don’t even need to be a Costco member to buy wine there. When the greeters ask you for your membership card at the entrance, just tell them you’re only buying alcohol and they’ll wave you through. Cheers!

Cause I let my membership expire a while back. Sam's is just too close to my house and for the things we buy, they both sell the same brand at about the same cost.

Depends on the state. In NY Costco is not allowed to sell wine inside (no chains) so they they have a small wine store attached with a separate entrance. Doing business as "xyz wine". No membership required.

Do you know if Costco still sources the wine for this store? In Texas, they do a similar thing, but with hard liquor in the attached store (and some wine), and just wine and beer inside Costco.

I am not sure. It seems like they might but just have different selection geographically. I've been to Costco in CA, they definitely have more CA wine (obviously) and less European wine. CA also carries things like Kirkland rebranded wines and Cameron Hughes which you never see in NY.

It's the same in Minnesota - you can't have members-only alcohol sales. I didn't live close enough to a Costco to see what they do, but at Sam's they have a separate shop and it's open to non-members.
