112 here yesterday, not sure what it was in the sun. And it's a dry heat too ... better than 20 below and better than 90 degrees with 100% humidity!

chickens are now in the freezer!! The group of us did about 75 chickens in all. I had 22. It is a lot of work, but well worth it! We will do more in the fall.. Oh and it was 90 here with about 75% humidity today.....

Hats off to you Mommadeb1. Never done that many at once and likely too inept to for that matter. About a dozen or so is all I've been able to muster up at once. Turkeys and ducks are fun tho...

A friend of ours has a whole set up. Everything from the cones, scalder and for lack of a better description, a washer tub attached to a motor,that spins all the feathers off (ok, most of them), then they have a nice table to do all the gut removal and final rinse station. There were 5 familys that were there, and everyone helps....so it isn't that bad...

I made it to my new home but I have no internet yet, or tv, or furniture, or anything else really. The cats did very well, which is a huge relief. The drive went very well too, no problems at all. We left VA late Monday afternoon and arrived (Sparks, NV) midday Friday. New house is much bigger and about a million times nicer than the old one but costs the same. Yay!

Glad you and the cats made it safely!!

Beautiful day for a bike ride. Spent over 5 hours out there and did my 70 miles. Wish I had trained enough for the 100, as the weather has never been better. Home now, relaxing. And a storm is coming in. Strong enough winds that my wife closed all the windows, and brought some things in.

I still have to grill the steaks to go with the 2005 Robert Craig Cabernet. Finding I really like Mt. Veeder cabs.

just watched "Love Never Dies" on PBS.... it is part 2 of Phantom of the Opera......have to say... I was not impressed... I am a BIG phantom fan.....this was not even close to being in the same league as Phantom
