does this come with a spoon to eat it with ?

Got the original flavor (not cured) some time ago. despite desperately wanting to, I did not enjoy it. To me it was more oniony than bacony. I enjoy both tastes. Together. But not in this concoction.

Been a while so I don't really remember specifics. I just remember my tongue's sadness.

Hmmm...looking at the photos, wouldn't it be a lot cheaper to just spread a 39¢ can of cat food on my toast? I think 9 Lives makes a bacon flavor?

I'm thinking of Skillet and Fluff for lunch.

I am a bacon fanatic, but to me this seems even more of an abomnination to the idea of bacon than canadian so-called bacon.
Bacon is about more than taste, it is about texture too, and jellified is not a texture to associate with bacony goodness.

Bacon or not...this spread rolled a -8 Constitution.

Blergh.

For those wondering how to use these, the Skillet Street Food Website has lots of recipes. I think I might stuff cherry tomatoes with it.

This stuff is pretty good. I bought some after I saw it on a Food Network show. I think I made burgers with it once or twice and then forgot we had it....and I am a serious bacon lover!

I've been making super fast and easy warm bacon vinaigrette for spinach salad with mine. A bit of the bacon jam. A little olive oil. Some cider vinegar. Dash of pepper. Mix. Zap a very short time in the microwave. Mix again and pour! Hey, it's still salad. Has to be good for me, right?

I have to agree that without dilution, the jam is a bit salty. So I'm more inclined to use it in a dip, sauce or a dressing with other ingredients than straight up on its own. But with the right ingredients, this stuff is really good. And a time-saving way to get bacon into just about anything.

I've bought this before through a gourmet food website and this stuff is amazing. Great with eggs or just right out of the container.

I was ready to buy their Sundried Tomato & Bacon Cream Cheese Spreadable Dip (dear God!) at a tolerable 10 bucks, when I realized the shipping would double that! Yikes! There's only free shipping after spending 75, so be warned. I'll try see if I find that spread in local stores first.

as a bacon lover, I bought it last time, and had dreams of bacon spread on hot dogs, on burgers, on grilled cheese

I mean what could be better than prepared bacon on demand!

but it was sweeter than I expected. It was good, not great. I wouldn't expect pure thick cut bacony goodness from this. It is not pure bacon extract, it is not the soul of bacon.

But it is quite useable and pretty good if you aren't expecting pure bacon.

It is like expecting real mayo and getting miracle whip, but once you get past the "eww, that's not what I expected" and respect it on its own, it works for lots of stuff and is quite convenient.

And for the record, I can not stomach miracle whip even when I know what it is, that it is coming and I am prepared for it. Just for the record.

This stuff (the original flavor) is AMAZING on toast. That said, my wife thinks it smells horrible. She's unwilling to try it because of the smell. It does smell...interesting, exactly how you'd think bacon + brown sugar + balsamic would smell. But man, is it delicious. I've mixed it into eggs, but mostly I just make toast and use this in place of butter.

I can buy this locally and it is divine on burgers. We even gave a jar to my 13 yo for his birthday since he liked it so much ;-)

More suggestions ; crostini topped with bacon spread, sliced grape tomatoes, topped with smoked aged Gouda and a lite drizzle of good evvo.
Add two large spoonfuls to mashed redskin potatoes, add half -and half,melted butter and season with salt, pepper, and topped with fresh cut rosemary ..

No offense, but I have no idea where you are getting your information, but most of what you said is completely untrue. Woot! and Home! shipments usually are very quick and often ship out anywhere between 1-5 days after ordering. Wine.Woot! on the hand is not the same case. On rare occasions wine.woot items will ship quickly, but you can normally expect at least a week before the items will even begin shipment, sometimes longer, and the general estimate is that you will receive your shipment 2-3 weeks from the day it was ordered.

I also have no idea where are you seeing an expedited shipping option. I have never seen this on offer and even just went through the checkout process on Woot! and Home! to ensure that I was not losing my mind. No such option was given.

Bought this last time, as a Seattle fan of Skillet. It is delicious. However, I was VERY BUMMED to see the expiration date was only 60 days from when the shipment arrived. I had bought several, as gifts and for us to use. But there's no way we'll make it through 3 jars in 60 days, let alone 6 jars. So, this meant that my pals all got bacon spread prizes. But it meant only one jar for our family. I wish the extremely soon expiration date had been mentioned before I ordered.

So glad I caved in this morning and bought some.. I WAS going to wait till the husband got home to ask what he thought.. since he's usually the cook in the house... but my son looked over my shoulder and said, "it's bacon mom... spreadable BACON".

So I gave in.... Have to remember to thank the boy later but I'm sure he'll enjoy the spread as much as I will.

So excited I made my order in time. I purchased the max of 3 orders - enough for myself as well as Dad and the Father-in-law.

Hopefully it arrives by Fathers Day, if not they'll get a picture to look at for awhile.

Ditto! Bought wine the other day and no other option for shipping was offered.
